Yesterday at ITE 2010 in Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Chien Thang, Vice Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, [second from right] Dr. Thong Khon, Minister, the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, [far right] Somphong Mongkhonvilay, Minister, Chairman of Lao National Tourism Administration of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic [second from left] and Aye Myint Kyu, Vice Minister, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of the Union of Myanmar [far left] jointly announced an important new agreement that will mean the four countries will promote themselves together.

The agreement includes Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Viet Nam becoming promoted as one single tourism destination in the region, with the Ministers announcing that their NTO’s will accelerate sharing information and experiences in tourism planning, product development and tourism investment promotion; hosting of tourism investment forums in each of the four countries; working together to participate in international tourism events held in the four countries, training and human resources development and travel facilitation measures for tourists, including the possibilities for tourist transportation, tour packaging, joint organization of caravan tours and opening of direct air linkages among cultural heritage sites in order to further increase the incoming tourists to the four countries.

Youth exchanges, as well as sister cities’ and cultural heritages cooperation are included, to enhance what is described as mutual understanding and nurturing appreciation for the cultural values, customs and traditions.

Public – Private partnerships also get a mention to assist in tourism development, especially in the fields of infrastructure investment, the improvement of quality tourism products and services, tourism marketing and promotion for the sustainability of tourism development in each country.

With the four countries implementing the program and the strap line “Four Countries – One Destination” the Ministers also expressed their concern and intend addressing poverty alleviation and priorities should be given to human resource development and formulation of tourism standards or criteria.

The Ministers all agreed that they will meet biennially to assess progress and discuss future activity and when questioned by e-Travel Blackboard, confirmed that there were no plans to include formal representation in Australia.

In addition, the Ministers confirmed that there were no plans to lift visa requirements for Australian travelers, but that they believed they had made the process as easy as possible by allowing visas on arrival.

if you stop the bias, none of them would've unite in the name of commonality and so forth! see, their argument makes a lot of sense, you know!

in khmer we say, one chopstick is easy to break, but many chopsticks in a bundle is really hard to break with your hands. try and see for yourself, ok! it does make a lot of sense, you know!

12:55 PM We only have fishes and rice and served three times a day. When we caught a lot of fishes we traded for such as rice, chickens, porks, beefs and ect. Our breakfast would be fruits on the way to farming nor fruits for snack.

You are good when you accept to live under Hun Sen as dictator.

This is not just a tourist business, but a political ambition of Vietnamese communist. Vietnam will do whatever it takes to extend their political influence in S.E. Asia. Now only Thailand is left.

With an internal crisis, the King's health issue, class struggles between rural red shirts and Bangkok, the drop in the agricultural and tourism industry and uncle Sam who is their main sponsor, are themselves in turmoil, how can Thailand afford to face Vietnam's expansionism? The connection between Vietnam and Burma will make Thailand very nervous, as Burmese are tradional enemies.

Is it worth for Abhisit to gain Thailand political nationalism from the Preah Vihear conflict with Cambodia, which is considered a local conflict? Thai politicians have to start to think that the relationship between Khmer and Thai has to be improved as we share a lot in common and again, Thai will have to think about facing a big challenge from communist Vietnam. Thailand is now being surrounded by communist.

Here are reasons why Chinese in Cambodia couldn't have settled in Cambodia prior to the "Angkor Khmer Empire Era"

China was once conquered by Genghis Khan of the Mongol Empire 1206-1227. Then on the other hand, there was never any evidence of Genghis Khan and the Mongol Army ever invading the Khmer Empire. So if China was taken over by the Mongols during that time, what would Chinese be doing in Cambodia during the Khmer Empire?? King Jayavaraman VII reigned during the years 1181-1215, and Genghis Khan reigned during the years 1206-1227. Therfore, how is it possible for the Chinese to migrate to Cambodia, unless a later King granted the Chinese to seek refuge in the Khmer Empire to escape the Mongols. The Chinese is more of a minority in every country it migrates to except in their own country. This explains why there are Chinese ethnic minorities in the Phillipines, Malaysia, Nepal, Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, in many other parts of the world and so on trying to spread their influence and changing other countries history. Everywhere their people migrate to, they tend to think their ancestors been there since the countries ancient days especially if the country had an ancient glorious history. When in fact they had their own ancient turmoil with the mongols.
