Dear Readers,
On this celebration of Cambodia's independence from France, while we are grateful to King-Father for leading the crusade for independence from France in the early 50s, Cambodia is now facing with another danger: the Vietnamese neo-colonization and the free fall of democracy and freedoms in Cambodia.
Some Cambodians are again turning to King-Father to seek his help on this issue, only to be rebuffed for the reason of his old-age. As for Cambodia's current king, the universal answer is, unfortunately, "SILENCE". Asking Mr. Hun Xen on this issue would only earn his standard answer: "I will send you a coffin" and "you don't understand the details in Cambodia."
Now, Cambodia's "Puth Tumneay" (the alleged Buddha's prediction which everybody knows that it was not passed down from Buddha) indicates that the legendary Preah Bat Thoammeuk will one day come and save our country. Regretfully, the elusive Preah Bat Thoammeuk remains just that ... an elusive figure. Nevertheless, in his teaching, Lord Buddha clearly taught us that there is no Buddha bigger than the One residing in each of our house (and our heart). Now taking this teaching to the extreme, what if Preah Bat Thoammeuk is not a single person, but rather an entire people in a nation? What if each one of us represents a small part of Preah Bat Thoammeuk and the sum of all of us represents the legendary Preah Bat Thoammeuk, would we all stand up to save Cambodia? Would we all get rid Cambodia of the current tyranny? Would we be willing to bring democracy and true independence to our people?
While we clearly understand that such view can be considered as pure heresy from certain quarters, we, at KI-Media, strongly believe that a paradigm shift is necessary regardless of whether that shift resides in a metaphor or a legend.

Sihanouk has too much sex made him forgot and lost his memory loving communism without education about the communist rules. He should educated himself first before joining and supporting the Khmer Rouge Kheuv Samphan to killed Khmer people and what are the consequences after the civil war is over and millions things needs to be done.
Sihanouk made another biggest mistake was the Paris Peace Agreements after the elections Hun Sen lost and Ranariddh won. Hun Sen declared war to take over Kompong Thom if he is not became a second Prime Minister and Sihanouk agreed with Hun Sen. No country on earth has 2 Prime Minister can run a country.
Sihanouk took Cambodia with him to hell: Pol Pot era and Hun Sen era.
Cambodia needs independence, but not when Vietnam and Thailand are waiting on both sides of the borders.

First I would like to congratulate Ki-media on this report. I have never thought of this issue the way that you guys are presenting it. I believe that the concept in which you guys are explaining it truly shows how modern your thinking are.
Personally I would like to think that it would be the collection of people that would help cambodia become a great country. We have been living in the past for so long, we need to wake up and instead of looking at our achievements in the past we should try our best to plan our future achievements. Whenever I hear cambodian's talks, it's always about angkor, independents from france, the norodom family but we should move away from our past achievements as it's only important if we are planning to stay in one spot.

The paradigm certainly has been shifted if we turn to “Puth Tumneay” to help relieving our hopelessness and our despairs. I am glad, however, that the team has selected this issue for discussion. The hope is that our discussion would result in raising the consciousness of our people.
Regardless of whether we legitimize the prophecy in puth tumneay or not it has its pervasive affect on our society. In a sense, it has become, if you will, our nation’s manifest destiny. The danger is many Khmers become complacent and waiting for the salvation from Preah Bat Thoammeuk. And when Thoammeuk does not appear, puth tumneay is still used as the default for comforts rather than confronting injustice or standing up against the incompetency of the leaders.
My view is the sooner we can come to a consensus to debunking the legitimacy of puth tumneay, the better for our nation. The mere fact that the name Preah Bat Thoammeuk is used in the prophecy implies a certain form of governance. Monarchy basically is fait accompli. In our current political climate even if Preah Bat Thoammeuk were to appear, he will be useless. Don’t wait for him.
Let us return to reality.
No one knows what the future will hold. It is up to all of us to creating a narrative that is positive for ourselves and for our nation. Each one of us can make a difference for each other and for our nation. If each one of us tries our very best to becoming critical, reflexive, and ethical practitioner, we can free ourselves from falling into believing a leader or a narrative so easily. May be, as the article has alluded to, each one of us could be a Thoammeuk- just Thoammeuk without Preah Bat.

We as people of Cambodia, and especially youth of next generation need to rise up, and oust this corrupt, violent and evil regime out of power once and for all. Surely the rich people will not do anything because they are already on their side. The rich and powerful are most likely members of CPP or have some sort of connection.
Let us all become one and unite. Continue to pray to Preah Bat Thoammeuk for his guidance, courage and wishdom to change and make a difference.
