Cambodia's Prince Considers Re-entering into Politics

Cambodia's Prince Norodom Ranariddh said Monday he is considering re-entering politics in order to reunite all forces, in particular, the royalists who have been split apart.
Prince Ranariddh is now a president of the supreme advisory council to the Royal Palace.
The prince announced in October 2008 his complete resignation from politics after his Norodom Ranariddh Party won only two seats in Lower House in general election in July 2008.
The Lower House is seated by 123 members of parliament from the ruling Cambodian People's Party of Prime Minister Hun Sen, opposition Sam Rainsy Party, Human Rights Party, FUNCINPEC Party, and Norodom Ranariddh Party.
The Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP) was established in 2007 after the prince was toppled from the president of the royalist FUNCINEC Party in 2006.
However, NRP was later changed to Nationalist Party led by Chhim Seakleng, his former colleague.
But on Monday, Chhim Seak Leng said the party's members wanted to see Prince Ranariddh return to politics and lead the party.
The prince said he would love to see the Nationalist Party changed to its former name as Norodom Ranariddh Party by December this year.
Prince Ranariddh is the son of former King Norodom Sihahouk and is the elder brother of the present King Norodom Sihamoni. He had been the first prime minister in 1993 and the president of the National Assembly in 1998.

Hun Sen did not allow royal members to play politics. Now he is keen enough to manipulate them into politics again, so he himself and the CPP will benefit from the scheme.
If the royalist parties united, the chance is that there will be some people from the other small parties turn around and vote for them. As a result, the Human Right and the Samrainsy parties will unlikely gain any seats in the parliamentary.
Remember that Hun Sen splitted the Royalists, and now he wanted to unit them.
So, this is my message to Ranariddh and Nhiek Bunchhay (a friend from my home village) to stop fooling our people. Please use your IQ. If you want to really contain Hun Sen, why don't you join the opposition parties? Just a thought.
Ranariddh have you had enough young wife yet? not going to fucking around? When you were PM or Leader of the country in the 80 and 90s did you even tried to help the country?? What are you going to do this time.....Alot of khmer people have suffer during that time 80 and 90s also now. what the your purpose coming back to the country?

we viet nam believe Hun Sen- CPP and the last is the KING Sihanomi did a good job and a good leaders. they are working hand in hand. They are a good leaders and good followers to our instructions.

It is too late for him, I believe he must teach his son wow to get strong. too late for him.
This is another scheme or scenerio from Hun Sen to divide the democracy lovers. He is allowing Norodom Rannaridth to come back into politic because Hun Sen is forseeing his party will be going down and he allowing Norodom Rannaridth to come in to split the voices of Cambodian people.
Recently, the poll or concensus is showing Hun Sen is loosing support from the people. Everyday his party made people suffers and crying.
Please don't not believe in Narannridth and Hun Sen Please vote for SRP..

i'm wondering say if royaltist win, can they take the heat and pressure of the freedom of speech criticize them of impunity, immunity, ineffective, conflict of interest, etc? you see, there's a reason why royal shouldn't be prime minister. people have to think again about having a direct royal in power like that, you know! when will the bad tradition going to end for cambodia?
being popular is one thing, being a good, effective leader is another thing. i hope people are keeping them separate to avoid conflict of interest, etc. they say a history not learned is a history waiting to repeat itself. that's dangerous for cambodia, i think.

Hun Sen is not a man who loves democracy, Ranarith neither.
If they love democracy, we already have, in the Constitution, the limit of number of mandates to be Prime minister.
