Wow from what year is this political cartoon. It looks very peaceful even we are fighting but at least amongst ourselves.
I dont' care if Khmer fight each other internaly but as long as not from the foreginers.
Like youn, siem, chen....we dont want that.

The Toon was published by Nokorthom news in year 1970-1974.
Nokor Thom News printed about 30,000 copies per day.The Editor was Soth Polin who is the author of the book :" Jivit Ith Ney ".
Man this brings back lots of memories.. Nokor Thom was the first daily (during the Khmer Republic years) to start these sunday editions with front page political cartoons by Ung Bun Heang. The cartoon usually concentrate on a theme/political gossip. The format was copied by competing dailies like Koh Santepheap with the work of artist Saing Hel (if i remember correctly).. But nothing beats Bun Heang's achievement. Usually you can get an advance copy of Nokor Thom Sunday edition on saturday night (i used to sneak over to Psar Olympic and get a copy, together with the obligatory nom paing sach ko aing, pong tear kaun and teuk kralok). LOK P-AUN UNG BUN HEANG was so young and innocencent , he just lost his self consciences to the Communist uninetentionlly with a freedom of speech which was granted democratically by LOK LON NOL to the young generations during the KHMER REPUBLIC.
I hope LOK P-AUN UN BUN HEANG regrets what he had done to the KHMER REPUBLIC he honors the most.
It is so sad to see this politcal cartoon back after the great loss to SIHANOUK, NORTH VIETNAMESE , VIET CONT\NG and KHMER ROUGE especially HUN SEN and now VIET NAM

The poltical cartoonist of Koh Santepheapwas lauk Hol Sophon who was also a famous Khmer Comic book during that era.What I heard he's still living in Phnom Penh.
