Inspired!

03 Dec 2010
By P. from Long Beach

As I read “At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet”, my mind couldn’t help but wonder because, as far I can remember, love makes men sing, it makes women cry, and nobody can describe this feeling better than French singer Michel Sardou in the song “Les Maladies d’Amour” (Lovesick). “She runs, she runs, the love sickness, deep in the heart of the youth of 7 to 77-year-old … She makes men sing and widens up the world … She makes women cry, she makes one shout in the shadow, but the most painful part is when one is cured from this sickness.

Well, lovesick does not just afflict the French people, it also afflicts Khmer people as much, as Chhun Vanna attests in the following song:

Chhun Vanna – Chum-ngoeu Sneha (Love sickness)

When love fills one’s heart...

Sin Sisamouth – Srolanh Penh Chet (With all my heart)

one couldn’t help, but miss our loved one:

Sin Sisamouth – Noeuk Aun Krub Velea (Missing you always)

Until next time … keep well!

P.

Love is a drug.It's stinks.

Love has to have justice and judgment to be truly love! Otherwise it becomes a debauchery.

Since I'm a spin doctor, here I go...

1 Corinthians 13

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4Charity (love) suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8Charity (love) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Democracy will fail - love will never fail.

Thank you P for sharing.

Could you or KI team post some songs of In Yeng? There is one by the tittle of 'Kakvay Cheayden' (I think!) or 'Poet by the border'.

There is something in his simple lyrics and melody that transports his listeners to another emotional realm. Yes, perhaps, deep down there is a poet inside all of us!

The 'Khmer soul' would seem to be deeply rooted in the Khmer Universe of sub-tropical temper and natural abundance, of which the ascription 'Sovannaphum' (Paradise or Bountiful Village) is aptly and perfectly coined. It is this world and environment that the great poets convey to us through their arts and talents, and the physical liquidation thereof in the latter half of the 1970s bespeaks a deliberate effort to impoverish and weaken a nation by killing its soul. Enough of that!

If love between couple is so importance and meaningful, I wonder that Buddha contradicted to this principal logic in his last life.

Just a question: If all can follow our Buddha's path, how is the united world of us going to be?

Love is strange I would define it and this day an age, it is hard to believe or see that True Love exists.

P-Long Beach,

Amazing music:~)) I know the French song sound nice, but very sorry, I can't understand what he is saying! Is there any Khmer or English version of this song? Sorry, I just a few decade
behind:~(

Now you make me think...if one uneducate in true love is it worth for one seeking? And when does one know that it is "true love" rather than the love for BMW-X3?

Yes, I wrote on the previouse space - "but the touch of true love can transent one's soul!" -which I was thinking about the Hindu's God :~) "LOVE" is not just touch the human's soul, but even God couldn't resist love!

OK - P - in Long beach, if you find the French song in Khmer or in English version - I hope you would share with us all bloggers...

Enjoy your Khmer food at River Side Market...

This is to: "spin doctor"

OK - this is from economics doctor - I have a simple answer for you about love - as long as the cost of pain is not greater than the benifit from "love", than you go ahead, because you have some surplus of love for future investment in love. But if cost of pain from love is greater than the benifit from from "love" at the present values, don't invest - you will end up in defincite (which is your tear)..

OK - that is my two cents from econ. doctor

Speaking from personal and others experiences, I believe:" Love is an enigma, the puzzle game of life, and an ardor to adorn our lonely spirit."

It's all depending on what puzzle game we're encountered through our living path. We tend to define its meanings to suit our discovery of its effects upon individual self.

I am a commoner, thus have privileges to listen to far too many problems and heartaches from men and women, who are willing to open up their story to find some possible solution, or simply let it out of their chest.

I fully understand the love sickness through the experiences, and conquered its negative impacts with endurance and persistence by adopting selfless approaches.
It teaches me so much of its values and it allows me to discover my self and what true love means to me.

W.G.P said: "Love your enemy. It will drive him crazy." and I somehow do agree with this principle.

Thank you very much P. of LB for bringing this Love sickness as food of thoughts for this weekend.

I wish you every success in your love life.
In case it does not go well at present, I offer you my love of understanding and caring to ease your pain and heartache.

Judging from your comments and actions, I see you are a very caring and wise individual. Love will guide you the way to a remote discovery that will bring you success and satisfaction in your life. Never give up, keep enduring and persisting to find what true love means to you.
Although Napoleon Bonaparte said: " Nothing is more difficult and therefore precious, than to be able to decide." There are times when decision needs to be reviewed and re-evaluated in searching for what you are looking for and really wanted.

Please accept my great admiration to your wisdom and action.

P. and KI Media Team,

Thank you for sharing the songs of the old days.

I love all of them. It really brings back a lot of good souvenirs of Cambodia before the stupid KR era.

Can many waters quench love? asked Solomon. Another words, if you can drink all the available water on earth, including the oceans - it could never quench the thirst for love.

Where does love come from? It comes from our Creator God. God is love!

Jesus was able to say, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they are doing..." awhile he as dying on the cross. It was love that stayed him on the cross to finish the will of his Father's love for ill-manner sinners who cried out, "crucify" him.

Most of you out there would like it if Hun Sen and his cronies were condemn and sent to hell, that if you oppose his ways to his rulings. But from God's perspective, he rather have Hun Sen repent from his wrong doings and walk in the path of light in doing so will find forgiveness and love.

God showed his love to the world by sending his only Son into the world to save the world. Knowing that he would be kill and wrongly accused betrayed into the hand of sinners to be put to death with no wrong doings of his own.

Which of you is willing to die on behalf of Hun Sen? All because you really love him as a human being and to seek his eternal welfare. I venture to guess, none of you will.

Jesus took upon his shoulders at the cross the weight of sinners and bear them as the judgment of God upon himself to set sinners free. Isn't that love? For a good man someone may willing to die but for a criminal, murder, manslayer...? Ah... not sure?

The depth of God's love

~For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

~Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the LOVE of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Khmer Israel,

You never know Pol Pot and Ta Mok may have asked your Jesus for his forgiveness and for that reason are already in heaven waiting for you.

I personally would do anything to go to hell so I can stay away from Pol Pot and Ta Mok.

Make sure when you see them there, give each one of them a good and big hug and tell them that you love them as much as Jesus loves them, OK?
