Three Thai villagers freed by Cambodia to return home Tuesday

BANGKOK, Dec 21 (MCOT online news) -- Three Thai nationals, who were released from imprisonment in Cambodia to mark the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations between Thailand and Cambodia, will arrive in Thailand on Tuesday.

They were scheduled to arrive at Chong Chom checkpoint in Surin Tuesday afternoon, being escorted by officials from the Thai embassy in Cambodia.

The trio--Sanong Wongcharoen, Lim Phuangphet and Lan Sapsri--all natives of Surin province, were arrested in August by Cambodian border patrol police on charges of spying while collecting forest products along the border.

They were sentenced for 18 months prison in Siem Reap on charges of illegal entry by the Cambodian court.

Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya visited Phnom Penh Monday and reported that the three Thais who had been detained since August were yesterday released from the Cambodian prison to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Thai-Cambodian diplomatic relations.

Mr Kasit, who was in Cambodia to celebrate the anniversary, said yesterday the three may return to Thailand with army commander-in-chief Prayuth Chan-ocha.

However, Gen Prayuth, who was also in Phnom Penh to introduce himself Monday, said the three Thais would return home via the Surin border check point, which would be more convenience for them instead of accompanying him to Bangkok before going home to Surin.

They could reunite with their families more quickly, he said.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen confirmed the release to a group of Thai journalists who met him at his government office to join the celebration of the relationship.

He said the trio were in Phnom Penh and were handed over to the Thai army chief.

The Thai embassy in Phnom Penh prepared a car to pick up the three men at 6am to drive to Thailand via Thai-Cambodian border check-point at Chong Chom in Surin.

Thai embassy Minister Counsellor Suwat Kaewsook escort them to Thailand and they are expected to arrive at the check point in the afternoon.

Always good for Thai people in our current political climate because our leader, and unfortunate our people, the Thai never treat the same way, but we will not regret or disappoint because our gene create us as big heart big men and we civilised for thousand of years and continue at prenest day, Thai is still barbaric society, and thatwise we are proud of our culture that Thai could never dream off and Thai try to act like us but you can see they lost their identity they donot know where they came from and day by day the history reveal itselve and the Thai become nightmare.
