Thank you for sharing.

Traditional Khmer Chhaiyam performs by Kampuchea Krom Federation. Recorded during Cambodian Arts & Culture Exhibition, November 19, 2011 in Cambodia Town Long Beach, California.
Kampuchea Krom History. "Kampuchea Krom" are Khmer words meaning Lower Cambodia. It is the area of land along the Mekong River Delta region that was inhabited exclusively by Khmer until the earl 1600s, when Kim Chey Chetha II of Cambodia allowed a group of Vietnamese to establish a trading post at Prey Nokor, a major Khmer seaport along the India-China trade route. Shortly after Vietnamese settlers began arriving in greater numbers and by the time the French arrived in the mid-1800s, the port was largely controlled by the Vietnamese, who had re-named to Saigon. On June 4th, 1949, the French formally gave the entire region to Vietnam, even though the majority population was Khmer.
