almost every conflict happens because of misunderstanding, wrong propaganda and misjudgment. most of khmer people do not understand well their own history, even people who live abroad. they hate this people or that people because they hear that people or this people told them to hate without analyzing. Sihanouk short-sighted realpolitik led to his own demise. He's polluted with egoist and greed of being a demi-god bestow by ignorance Khmer peasants.
