Why Hanoi regime took Mr. Pen Sovann to Hanoi. And why Cambodia still had a communist party office in Hanoi, after the occupation of the Viet Regime in Cambodia ?
To be sending to Hanoi was more or less a political prisoner of the Hanoi regime. You can't say, Mr. Pen Sovann and his family has decided to live in Hanoi, because there more freedom than in his own country Cambodia.

An witness who was a medical student in Hanoi who had met Pen Sovann .
He went to visit him quite often on the weekend during he sudied.
Pen Sovann was not not the jail as he had clamed.He lived very comfortable live with his wife.
The witness is living now in Sydney.
Physically he maybe was not jailed but politically he might had been jailed.
Think So? In politic, the YORN is smart enough that they would not let that student to visit Mr. Pen Savann in the bed condition. I think!!! To me only Mr. Pe Savann himself can tell the god of justest.
Whatever happened to Mr. Pennsovan is clearly indicated that Hanoi was not happy with him because he did not serve the master well as Hun Sen has done. So he was removed from the power by the Vietnamese army. There is no any sign that he was still favored by Hanoi. Remember that, even Pol Pot would still rule the country until today if he chose to serve Vietnam's interest over Khmer's as Hun Sen is serving today.

Penn Sovann is Yuon indoctrinated and classified as 2nd group to serve
and control Khmer for Vietnam in 1979.
Hun Sen is 3rd group to slave vietnam from 1980.
Hun Manet 4th group to pure slave vietnam generation.
A lot of nationalities had gone through the same thing as Khmers have gone through, being brainwashed by the enemies but they can't be brainwashed, they instead used the opportunity while being brainwashed to study the enemies inside out so that they can serve their motherlands when possible. Us Khmers can learn a lot from these nationalities.

Pen Sovan was arrested on December 2, 1981 for irritating Le Duc Tho, chief Vietnamese advisor to the Kampuchean United Front for National Salvation (FUNSK) and the People's Republic of Kampuchea (PRK). He was released from Vietnam's prison on January 25, 1992, after he served over 10 years. His long ordeal in prison, Pen Sovan explained: "When I wanted to create our own army of five regiments, the Vietnamese didn't agree and Le Duc Tho went to the USSR to complain."
