Luc Sâr must have been very very resourceful to have gotten hold of an article written by that Céline Ngi. Ça m'impresse beaucoup!
A message from Luc Sâr:
Cher M. Anonime:
The western-sounding name Luc Sâr was given to me by my father who was a refugee in France in the early 80s. The inspiration came to him one day when he was taking the metro to go to work at the Renault factory at 4AM. While daydreaming half asleep in the wee hour, he woke up when the train jolted just to get a glimpse a poster that looks somewhat similar to the one below (at least that's what he claimed):
Of course, arriving from a Thai refugee camp not too long ago, he did not understand what Luxor was, but it sure sounded similar to his family name (Sâr) and as they said it, the rest was history; or as my father would say it with his thick Khmer accent: opportoonity is ze mazer of all resourcefulness (or somefing like zat, n'est ca pas?). Quite frankly, I'm not sure whether it was Luxor that inspired him or it was that Egyptian woman who reminded him of Khmer Srey L'vo (ស្រី ល្វ). But, I am digressing of course.
Merci Lok C.S. for the story!!!

Who's Lok C.S?
Egyptian arts are mostly profiling side way to the left or right. They rarely(or never) shown in full frontal view as in our Cambodian's celestial Apsaras/Tevodas.
Sans blague!
