through 1973.
Without helping from Vietcong,
Khmer Rouge could not win over
Lon Nol.

Remember,in 1970 Sihanouk asked
Vietcong troops coming in to kill
Khmer people.
Vietnamese soldiers killed Khmer
and used Khmer to kill Khmer.

Yuon created their revolution network since 1885 based in Thailand for Yuon said they wanted to kick the French out for the peace of their regions while Yuon were still worked for French (Napoleon III) administered three states Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Yuon started to brainwash Khmers since then, and that was before Sihanouk was born.
Thailand helped Yuon to kick the French out for believing that they can divide Cambodia to two, but Yuon refused. Yuon wanted to take over from French.
Sihanouk was a playboy teenager, and Yuon saw his weakness so they suggested French to put Sihanouk on the throne. He was not easily brainwashed by any, but his game to go with China was that the US did not promise to protect Cambodia from Thailand and South VN (Under Ngo Dinh Diem) invasion.
Sihanouk had no card to play but to party with Communist block.
You may have to study all over again to be sure you won't come back and lie to this intelligent world who can surf on the Internet and learn some clues of the past.
