I am President of the Cambodian Confederation of Unions (CCU) would like to appeal to all of you to involve and intervene on the case of illegal arrest of our union activist, Mr. Rong Panhan, Officer of the Cambodian Alliance Trade Union (CATU) since this morning around 09:00am at in front of the Botum Vattay pagoda on 11 July 2012 without appropriate reason soon after our CCU submitted its petition to the Cabinate Office of Prime Minister.
We would like to appeal to you all to come down to investigae the case and help us to intervene in order to free Mr. Panhan from the illegal arrest of the local authority.

Phnom Penh, Wednesday 11 July 2012
This morning, 11 July 2012, Cambodian Confederation of Unions (CCU) and Cambodian Alliance Trade Unions (CATU) mobilize workers from Tai Nan Factory (former Tai Yang) in Phnom Penh capital with the purpose of requesting the Government to engage in providing possible solution to the workers' demand on other benefits according to the labor law.
However, the officer of CATU, Mr. Rong Panhna, was beaten seriously on his head caused bleeding and also arrested him by the municipal authority and now not yet release.
Therefore we would like to call for help make possible intervention into this case from national and international human right groups or organizations including United Nations High Commissioner Office for Human Rights in Cambodia, International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Trade Unions Confederation (ITUC) in order to free Mr. Rong Panhan from the illegal arrest.
Your strong invention and involvement into this case is greatly appreciated in showing your support to promote and enforce the respect for the human rights in Cambodia.
