Dear National and International Partners and Stakeholders,
I am President of the Cambodian Confederation of Unions (CCU) would like to appeal to all of you to involve and intervene on the case of illegal arrest of our union activist, Mr. Rong Panhan, Officer of the Cambodian Alliance Trade Union (CATU) since this morning around 09:00am at in front of the Botum Vattay pagoda on 11 July 2012 without appropriate reason soon after our CCU submitted its petition to the Cabinate Office of Prime Minister.
We would like to appeal to you all to come down to investigae the case and help us to intervene in order to free Mr. Panhan from the illegal arrest of the local authority.

Don't compare your criminal gangsters CPP with the US. Yours, the laws apply to only the not CPP, but if the CPP members, the laws don't work for them in your damn land. The US's laws are obeyed by all the American people including the Senators, Congress and President whoever on top positions.
This arrest is nothing more than being paranoid by the CPP. Because the Union can becoming a very strong force, and the gangsters are afraid of the unity.

In fact, the polices in the U.S. or Western Europeans countries beat the demonstrators, ONLY the demonstrators make them in danger of life for them, for instance grip them with weapons, knife. When the polices beat demonstrators without nothings in the hand, those polices will be punished or suspend from office by court.
There are also rarely in the U.S. as we have all seen on TVs that the polices beat civilians due to racism, but those will never escap by the court.
Question:
The incident in Cambodia are more often and the court has ever put those polices in jail? Never heard. So, please don't compare the behaviour of most of polices in today Cambodia with other countries like USA, Germany, France .... .. All people in the U.S., France, Germany ..... have never afraid from state apparatuses at all. But they are afraid only the People's Court, because they are impartial. The court responsible for every citizen and incorruptible, if anyone who try to tribe or extort the court those must be investigate and punish. Instead most of judge in Cambodia are very rich, even those salary just maximum $ 2000 monthly!

I sympathize with the protesters situation. You have the rights to have a free speach. However, I disagreed how these Cambodian civilians acting in a bad way. Protesters don't have the rights to curse at the police and called them with bad name, and threw rocks at them.
Once again you have the right to a peacefully assembly (meeting) but you don't have the rights for consparacy to hurt someone.
So is the Occupy LA. When you threw rocks at the police, don't mind they put pressure back on you.
You don't step inside the eligator lake and then complained why the eligator bit you.
Let me tell you I don't like the One Eye King or the Cambodian King period. Overall I see the rule of engagement between the police and civilian was justified in my eyes.

I understand that it was difficult to live on $60.oo per months. $60.00 is better thant no job. We as Cambodian people need learn how to grow vegitable and fruit to supplement our income. We can't totally depend on foriengers.
Then these workers became angry and began to threaten and demand more pay. You have the rights for peaceful protest. The protests were not peaceful.
When I reviewed the video U tube, I believe strongly that Cambodian people at fault. The reason is the people threw rocks and object at the polices. They cursed at the police and disrespected them.
Don't tell me that is freedom of the speach. Base on this I believe the police officers and the military were justified to use force reasonable and necessary. It calls rule of engagement.
