LAS VEGAS (KIM) — A chimpanzee who rampaged through a Las Vegas casino neighborhood (Bavet commune, Svay Rieng province) for the last 30 years made a second escape from his backyard enclosure this weekend, but his caretaker thinks he had human help this time from the East.
Nguyen Tan Dung says the 13-year-old chimp, HunXen, didn't get loose Saturday by bending steel bars without help. He thinks someone let HunXen out of his cage. Dung says the 180-pound animal was captured quickly and was never a threat to his Eastern neighbors. He was found barking for 5 hours and 20 minutes in the NatAss when he was caught, a record for such a primate.
