Tribunal Defense Continue To Push on Current Ministers’ Roles in Khmer Rouge

The comrades: Keat Chhon (L), Hor 5 Hong (C) and Hun Xen (R)

PHNOM PENH - Khmer Rouge tribunal witness Suong Sikoeun told the UN-backed court on Wednesday that current government ministers Hor Namhong and Keat Chhon were both cadre of the regime, though they were “less powerful” than he was and less than the three former leaders currently on trial.

His testimony is the latest in a line of witnesses who have named the ministers of Foreign Affairs and of Finance, respectively, as Khmer Rouge cadre.

That testimony has been pushed by defense teams, who say the former Khmer Rouge leaders on trial—Nuon Chea, Khieu Samphan and Ieng Sary—are not getting fair trials because of governmental interference at the court.

Hor Namhong has strongly denied he was a member of the Khmer Rouge, claiming he was a prisoner of the Beoung Trabek detention center, not in charge of it. Most recently, he accused the tribunal defense attorneys of stirring up trouble by questioning court witnesses on his role in the regime. Hor Namhong, Keat Chhon and four other senior officials have meanwhile ignored summonses by the court to appear as witnesses.

On Wednesday, Suong Sikoeun became irritated under constant questioning from defense attorneys over the roles of the two ministers. “It gives me an earache, hearing over and over, ‘Keat Chhon, Hor Namhong, Keat Chhon, Hor Namhong,’” he said.

“Among all of the intellectuals returning from overseas there was only me who was appointed head of the section,” he said. “Therefore, both Keat Chhon and Hor Namhong had less power than me. I beg you, please stop troubling them.”

Those ABOVE words were the words of Suong Sikoeun. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS MAN, HE TRIED TO COVER UP FOR THESE YUON KIET CHHON & HOR NAM HONG WERE KR KILLERS. And THESE YUON HOR NAM HONG & KIET CHHON IGNORED THE COURT WHO SUMMONED THEM?

stop barking up the wrong tree for a change, really; these are good KR soldiers. i know it is hard to believe that not all those stupid, primitive, ignorant KR supporters were all evil or bad. that said, of course, many of them are bad to the bone with their killings and conducting of inhumane, brutality and atrocity, etc, but doesn't mean all of them were all bad or evil, really. the ones who reformed, do repented and who improved with education, good merits, and who sworn never to do that again in cambodia should be forgiven and reconciled. forget the the evil, primitive, ignorant, stupid ones, though, ok! they say to error is human, and to forgive is divine, you know. have some reconciliation for a change, really! may god bless all in cambodia.

1) I wonder those Five Stars you had on your shoulders, are they real gold?

2) Mr Hun Xen, I wonder where can I buy those Five Stars and can you tell me please?

3)I also wonder where can I buy the PHD degree as a leader like you?

4)Can you ask your son, the Hun Manet, how can I get the PHD degree in economic like him while the economy in Cambodia is the worst in Asia?

5) Can You ask Hun To if he can share some of the drugs money with some of the poor people in Cambodia?

6) Can you ask Hun Mannet that if he can share the two stars on his shoulders with the Cambodian female officer who also went to WestPoint, she got none and you got two?

7) Mr Hun Sen, Can You teach me how to talk five hours like you while I could not even sit down in one place for 1 hour?

I hope some of the 200 advisers from Cambodia can help translate this to you. Hopefully one of them speak English. Thank You for your consideration.
