URGENT: PETITION MAM SONANDO

[La version francaise se trouve en fin de l'appel en anglais]

Hello,

On July 15, 2012 at 08:48 AM local Phnom Penh time, journalist and human right activist, Mam Sonando, was arrested by the Cambodian authorities. Mr. Sonando has been arrested twice before by the government for non-violent political activities and freedom of expression. Since July 20th, Mam Sonando's health is deteriorating, due to a serious respiratory infection he contracted in jail.

We are deeply concerned about his welfare and have reasons to fear for the safety of his life.

With the help of Oddam Seng, we just launched the petition Free and drop all charges against Man Sonando! (in English) at

We invite you to click the above link and to sign the petition.

Then, please kindly forward the petition to as many people as possible.

Bonjour,

Cordialement.

You do not need to concern about that man, he is doing all right! concern about yourself. The goverment know who is right and who is wrong, they know how get people who against the goverment. So, please take care of yourself instead.

I think that was his choice to stay in jail to show the world that he is a brave man. He accused other people who is runing away from unjustice court he said they are coward... Do you remember he use his radio to label people who didn't want to face with this corrupt court as a coward, not a brave leader?
He is not better then any other ordinary khmer who loves the country but under this situation we need to find other way to deal with corrupt court and corrupt leader.
So Mr. Mom Sonando should learn his lesson. Don't accuse other khmer leader as coward not better than him.
So enjoy in your ceil for couple more months.

Hun and his clan are trying to sent fear to other political leaders, without knowing that by doing so is to create more enemies from within. Eventually, people will think like, 'if you do this to others, one day you will do this to me too'. So they will create a new regime just like Pol Pot did. Don't let history repeats itself, the best is learn to include others and let them say whatever they want to say as long as you have the rule of law in place is all it matters. E.g the law says not to jump in the river or else you get a fine of $1000 for first time. In this way, money talk and off course no one would dare to jump otherwise they will get the fine. Be smarter Hun sen, stop using forces but the law and collect the money, $4000 second time, 10000 third time, jail 2years plus 10000 or 100, 000 for bail out and so on.

Continue, why not allowing them to jump in that particular river? because it is a dangerous area and to protect people from accidental death etc. No need to use forces as it will do more harm then good or e,g govt might spend more money on arm forces to do the dirty job. but you have the rule of law, the law will work for you and that is called work smarter and not harder ok.
