When the father is gone, the children should reconcile.
Every adversity, defeat, loss, disappointment carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit, said Dr. Napoleon Hill the author of “Think and Grow Rich” which had sold nearly a billion of copies worldwide.
Regardless of how each of us thinks or feels about King Sihanouk, the majority of Khmer people and the people of the world recognize him as the Father of ALL Cambodians and a god King of Cambodia.
Perhaps Khmers can find the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit from the loss of King Father.
The very least I can think of now is that the death of King Sihanouk can definitely help bring unity for all Cambodians regardless of their political or religious beliefs. That means it is time for ALL Cambodians to reconcile.
Sam Rainsy should pick up the phone and call Hun Sen to let him know that as one of King Sihanouks’ son and a son of Cambodia, Sam Rainsy will be in Phnom Penh to join Hun Sen in the mourning ceremony of Cambodians “God King” or King Father.
Hun Sen should reconsider and help facilitate one of his Khmer brothers to join him in such a rarest ceremony. Let King Sihanouk’s spirit leaves this planet in peace. By doing this Sam Rainsy and Hun Sen will both win, hence the Cambodian people will also win.
As a great gesture the Current Cambodian King Sihamoni should use this opportunity to help free all political prisoners including Mam Sonando and others. He should also request Premier Hun Sen to intercede with the Cambodian court to help remove all charges against Sam Rainsy. By doing this King Sihamoni will be remembered as the next great King of Cambodia after King Sihanouk.
Yes, there are seeds or opportunities than we need to find good things to help Cambodia after her greatest loss in modern time: the death of the God King.
But, someone needs to take his personal initiative: Make that phone call, now.

Look deep to the problem. This is not the problem among Khmer but between Khmer and Yuon. Hanoi stays behind Hun Sen to break Khmer in pieces in order to control. If the problem is between Khmer and Khmer, there would be peace and national reconciliation since Paris peace accord 1991. As long as the Yuon's puppet rules the country, there is no real peace, stability, and true democracy in Cambodia.

Hun Sen should pick up the phone not Sam Rainsy. He who is Hun Sen does not want to reconcile. He think -as he said- that Cambodia is a piece of cake and this cake is in his hand.
He who can decide if he wanted to share the cake. He also said he wants to rule until he is 90 years without knowing when he will die.

T. Chhim's demagogy here is just as dangerous as that of Sihanouk when he was alive! After all, T. Chhim is a musical playmate (for the lack of a better word) of Sihanouk as T.Chhim himself has indicated in his personal good-bye condolences to Sihanouk - "...And for whatever will happen to Cambodia next... and I will remember the times when we used to play together…".
It is entirely up to Sam Rainsy whether he wants or will pick up the phone first, and needless to say, the whole world knows full well that Phnom Penh is a Viet-controlled regime with or without Hun Sen.
As a simple Khmer citizen, I only have one question - what is the real motivation behind this so-called great opportunity to reconcile by T. Chhim???

Can KI media or RFA or VOA or anyone out there confirm with real documents that say Kos Tral Island and other islands were one belong to Cambodia under King Norodom Sihanouk's regime after Cambodia gain indepandant from France?
This is kind of very important to Cambodia and Cambodians and The Khmer nation!
The real fact, Koh Tral Island and other island were not the part of Mekong Delta or Cohinchine.
Under the French protectorate and afterward the new Royal Cambodian government under the reign of the former King Sihanouk and The King of Suramarith Koh Tral was always belongs to Cambodia.
During this time our Khmer people were so luxury and not ready to set up on this island to liver there. Therefore the Viets used this opportunity and set up illegally on the island, like they have done in Cambodia during the French protectorate. During the years 50-60, from my memory as a school boy, that a lot of Vietnamese have live in Cambodia without documents or personal ID.
Unluckily I have to leave Cambodia, to Europe after finishing my school experiences in 1968. And I can say, have lost most of the late Khmer history under the Lon Nol or Khmer Rouge or HunSen Regimes.
Under the international law, Koh Tral and other islands belong to Cambodia. It has nottthing to do with the people from what nation have live there at all.

I agree with you Tim. We must look for good things in our way of doing things to better hamanity. If we don't have that in our minds, we will never find peace within ourselves and Cambodia will always be known for as trouble place and suffering people. It is nothing wrong to reach out...We must look for the greater cause for our nation.
