If I could love you? - Khmer Oldies By Mao Sareth

Mao Sareth - Kamm Pha'on Pum Ban Doch Chenda - "If I could love you?"
ម៉ៅសារេត - កម្មប្អូនពុំបានដូចចិន្តា

Music and lyrics by then-Prince Norodom Sihanouk, Sung by Ms. Mao Sareth

The title of the song in French is "Si je pouvais t'aimer?", "If I could love you?"

As I was listening to the recording of this song from a vinyl LP to the computer, I thought it was a nice Cha Cha Cha Khmer Oldies, then I proceeded to read the label on top of the LP (there was no cover to it) when I was flabbergasted to read that it was an old composition of Sihanouk. Another strange thing also, the LP from the 60s was made in Australia. Well, I learn something new everyday. The trip was worth it.

In stead of preparing the country to defend Vietnam's interference and tricks,
Ah Roleuy Sihanouk was spending his precious time fucking, writing song, playing movie, etc...

What an asshole leader!! That's why Khmer people suffer so much.

Voilà!

For the very few Sihanoukists and cronies including but not limited to "Pissed Off", "School of Vice", and "P. from Long Beach" for instance here on KI-Media, this kind of song was adored and will be revered till the end of time (back then it was called - 'Dontrei Tumneup (modern music/song)' according to my research/interview with those left-over-from-Pol-Pot folks....They enjoyed life to the fullest, sung the poor, the hopeless, and the average Khmer inhabitants to sleep while being duped by the Vietminh/Vietcong as to have called Cambodia an Oasis (Koh Santepheap in Khmer)...Sihanouk was the father of everything...Anything at all, you name it...

And maybe, I am saying maybe why someone is nicknaming himself "Pissed off" and another one calling himself "School of Vice" while the other one just kicks the cans to the curb off of Long Beach...

I rest my case here on a Sunday afternoon over a cup of coffee...

Si jamais je pouvais vous détester pour avoir détruit notre mère patrie!!!

Are you implying that it was OK for the KR to kill all Khmer singers from before 1975? I'm no fan of Sihanouk, but these singers were the ones who sang these songs, including my hero Mr. Sin Sisamouth and Ms. Mao Sareth. Will you ban all Khmer oldies songs when you come to power? I'm really scared to see one dictator replaced by another one.
