PHNOM PENH, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- Cambodia will send the third batch of 218 military personnel to Lebanon to replace the second batch who will end a one-year mission later this month, Xinhua news agency reported.
Lt. Gen. Sem Sovanny, director-general of the Cambodian National Centre for Peacekeeping Force, said that 20 leading forces will leave Cambodia on Tuesday night for Lebanon.
Cambodia first sent troops to Lebanon in November 2010 under the framework of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces.
The forces will undertake work in demining and construction of roads, bridges and barracks, and humanitarian activities such as producing pure drinking water and providing medical treatment to civilians.
