Phnom Penh Municipal Court has granted the Sam Rainsy Party youth movement permission to gather in the capital’s Democracy Park to voice its calls for the king to pardon political prisoners, but said it is up to the Ministry of Interior to decide whether they can take a petition to the Royal Palace on Thursday.
“We’re yet to receive a response from the [ministry], but I am committed to submitting the petition to the king,” Soung Sophorn, executive director of the movement said. He sent a letter to the municipal governor on October 30 asking for 170 NGO workers, students and factory workers to be able to march.

That is the right way to display courage to the autocratic regime.
It is important that we do thing according to the law.
Then we will see who the outlaw is.

"...it is up to the Ministry of Interior to decide whether they can take a petition to the Royal Palace on Thursday."
Cambodia, according to Her Constitution, is a democratic state where her people are free to exercise such a simple right as to present a petition to the King, is it not?
Doesn't the Ministry of Interior have a better and more important things to do such as dealing with all forms of corruption that exist in government and its rank and file than to decide whether or not to grant a permission to an action that expresses the will of the people and quite harmless to society?
Well, His Majesty can ask his subordinates to come out and receive the petition from the SRP Youth Movement group if He does not want or have time to come out Himself. That would solve the problem and clearly shows that His Majesty is aware of the problems occurring in His own Kingdom and does not want the Ministry of Interior to spend time doing such a trivial and useless thing as to debate on whether or not to grant the permission; after all, it is the prerogative of the King to find out from His children what their grievances are.
For God’s, the current and the future generations’ sake the government of Cambodia should spend their valuable time trying to improve the lives of every citizen in the country rather than trying to suppress the opposition without whose presence in the Kingdom, their democracy is a joke!
The flood is ready to roll over the bank of the river in no time and you are still foolish, ignorant, and greedy enough to try to fight the people in your own home. The flood will eventually consume you and your wealth too since the flood will not make a difference between you and your opposition.

Correction:
"... suppress the opposition without whose presence in the Kingdom will certainly make a mockery out of their democracy!"
