PHNOM PENH, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported products in equivalent to 2.49 billion U.S. dollars to the United States in the first eleven months of 2012, down 1 percent from 2.52 billion U.S. dollars it exported at the same period a year earlier, the report of the U.S. Department of Commerce showed Sunday.
The United States is Cambodia's largest export destination. Most products Cambodia exported to the United States are garments, textile and footwear.
According to the report, during the January-November period last year, Cambodia imported products from the United States worth 213 million U.S. dollars, up 26 percent from 169 million U.S. dollars at the same period a year earlier.
Main items it purchased from the United States include vehicles, machinery and medical equipment and supplies.
Cambodia attracted only 5.3-million-U.S. dollar investment from the United States in the first seven months last year, according to the latest figures provided by the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
On tourism, it received 153,880 U.S. tourists during the first eleven months last year, up 12 percent year-on-year, making the United States the 7th largest arrival groups to Cambodia, said a tourism report.
