The title "Buddha in war" is WRONG, and it is against Buddha's teaching. Buddha left his wealthy palace and throne to live in the jungle, he did not care anymore about those wealth he had. He did not involve with politics, and war whatsoever.
In the biography of Buddha, it says that his countrymen came and asked for his help, but Buddha did not respond nor he helped them. He already disconnected with the societies full of wars and crimes.
Following Buddha is to giving up everything including Kingdom. Buddha cannot help cannot reverse his goal (enlightenment) to join the club that full of Karma/sins.
