Can anyone tell me why do they have to choose two women, instead of a man and a women to dance in their pair. was it because during the monarchy period men were not allow to serve the king and queen and so they choose women and one is to pretent to be a man or what? I am thinking like, maybe it could be similar to the chinese las empiror where men had to cut of their privide part to be a 'noch' because fear that they might have intercouse with their mistresses etc or something.

It was ancient traditional. It was forbidden to have a man to dance and touch a woman so intimately, only husband & wife can.
Not only in Cambodia, but also other nations around the world. Men/boys who served in the Palace Royal called the "Eunuch" must have their sexual organs removed. They became impotent and celibate.
If only the CPP Youn dogs can all become eunuch so they can stop breeding in Khmer and go back to China.
The fuckin's king worry about the dancer screwing his wives/concubines back then, that the reason why they Eunuch the dancers! Your king Sihanmoni was Eunuch that wise he turns "Gay"dancer...What's sad life, live under abomination against nature and /or against God of the Universe.

Thank you so much for your explaination. So, my thinking was right all along, I just have to make sure that is all, and yeah, it makes a lot of sense. To me, I think it is very wrong to use a woman to pretend to be a man. Now, that time has changed, we should not hold onto such impunity culture. We should value both men and women as equal counterpart and respect each other existence as the way they are.
Today, the mad monarchy is not there to control us anymore, so why should we continue with their with their way of life?. We need to integrate into a much more mordern contemporary style, e.g in the west, the got like, hip hop, solo, lord of the dance and more etc. Their movement is like fast and moving forward. But for having said that, it does not mean I dislike our culture or anything like that, all I am saying is, just be open minded to adopt some new styles of dancing, in order to create kind of excitment for our new generation.
Plus, if we do well, it is a big business e.g In China, USSR, US, UK etc, they have a name for their dance crews like circuit or in the UK (Irish dance called 'lord of the dance'), they travel aound the world for their performance etc. Anyway, my opinion is based on seeing the successful of others. But, it is still up to the dance crews really.

You still misled my friend explanation at 9:19pm. He specific said this ancient traditional adopted around the world, not only in the Khmer Empire. You can browse and read in Biblical history, all nations back then had "Eunuch". All Pharaohs (Kings of Egypt), and all Mesopotamia Kings about thousand years ago had, until 1800 or so in new nations had "Eunuch". Compare to Pharaohs, Khmer Empire Kings were new who may have copied it from Pharaohs and from Babylonians. Today to preserve the Empire traditional culture, Khmers should keep the same style of thus dance.
As you could see and witness through history, although the Buddhism took over the Khmer Empire still the new conqueror did not dare to erase it.
If should Christianity rise in Cambodia, no Christian would dare to amend it either.

Ps: People created nations and the ones who were leaders, faced many wars to conquer others. Thus those who led were those who became Kings. When they became Kings or Queens they made laws/rules according to their desires.
Cambodia was not that old nation, the Khmer "Eunuch" may be during the Khmer Empire, because those khmer empire Kings were very wealthy and powerful, so they copied from old countries like from Egypt and Persia.
Khmers had no "Eunuch" after the empire collapsed when the Buddhism entered Cambodia. If they did, why did Ngoc Van, Jeyajettha 2's Yuon wife had many children from other men, at least three sons of her from having affair with Jayajettha 2's young brother named "Uday". No exaggerated it is in the history.

Well, in the past, we believed in the wrong god (buddha), that is why srok khmer is the way it is today!. So in the future, we need to look else where for a better outcome. Just look at Western society, they must have believed in the right god ( christianity) and that is why their countries is so successful compared to ours. Right now, Viets and Chinese are also moving into their direction (believing in christ the son of god who died for our sin). you can see that, their countries are so young e,g NZ, Aust etc (only abit over two hundred years old) and yet have deveoped so much.
Their rule of laws have been taken from the 'holy bible' like the ten commentments etc and before they begin their speech, they'd pray first like 'our father who act in heaven....' and other principle like, 'everyone is equally important' or 'treat others like you want to be treated' etc. Including the principles - 1) respect individuality 2) self-actualisation 3) self -determination 4) self-dignity and pride 5) empowement-everyone has the right to stand up for what is right 6) freedom of expression 7) freedom of speech 8) understanding each other needs or point of views 9) share in knowledge because knowledge is power 10) working toward common goal and common interest because to live is to serve each other in the name of 'love', because without love we would not be here in the first place.
Secondly, there are limited places only e.g. not everyone can be priest like, only a handful of them e.g. 3000 priests for 3000 churches accross the nation ( each person is to be rotated from one church to the next to avoid attachment, also from being opressed by both sides, etc). Each of these priests have to complete a 5 to 6 years degree of education etc. Therefore, life in the west is tough but it is based on right and just e.g everything has to be in balance etc. otherwise they can not make any profit for out society like, money being collected would go to charity to feed the poor know (welfare benefit).
That is why, in the west, gov't are open to both public or private services like christians church, temples and mosque e.g each one might collect up to $4000 per week and half would go to the gov't bank known as the e,g 'welfare bank-for welfare benefit'. etc. depending e.g tax payer also pay for public service, Road Registration money go toward adding new roads or repairing etc.

I suspected Yuon infiltrated working for Jayavaraman 7, then convinced him to adopt Buddhism to weaken the nation, and there our empire's economy declined then collapsed.
We may not have old record to prove, but why on earth, while new comers (Annamese and Thais) arrived, Jayavaraman 7 adopted a weakest doctrine? He destroyed all holy places and he put his new idolatry (Buddha) instead. While he adopted Buddhism, it was already declined and dead in Afghanistan, China.
Jayavaraman 7 claimed that Buddhism was peaceful. That SOB Jaya 7 must have Yuon or Thai in Khmer clothes worked for him and he listened to it. If I were in his time I'll behead him for treason.
A big empire cannot be peaceful when Yuon and Thais were hungry and wanted to eat Khmers.
This was absolutely Propaganda to weaked to destroy Khmers.
