Who is this idiot going around saying the word "youn" is racist? If they want to put a stop to that. Then they would have to equally stop using other terms in the Khmer dictionary that are use to refer to other people of different Cree. Vietnamese is the English format, and Youn is the Khmer format. In the end, Cambodians still don't even use the right or full pronunciation. They still call the Vietnamese people "Vietnam" in their speech for those who are trying to be politically correct. So close but still far off. I bet the youn in their own language don't use the word "Vietnamese" when referring to themselves and each other. I think political competition is good in the long term for Cambodia; however, I want to make sure our politicians are smarter and use the rule of law. hey, this is not like the dark ages era anymore when we learned that Khmer leaders used to fight each other for power and used foreign intervention to help them at a high cost to Cambodia geography, etc... I hope Khmer leaders learned from Cambodian history about destruction, hardship caused by civil war, etc... with the rule of law, politicians don't have to fight for power anymore, instead they should look into personal qualifications, ability, skills, obeying the law of the land, etc... i'm sure most Khmer people are sick and tired to see leaders fight for power, it's always a tradition for them to do so. I think that humiliated tradition should be modified and adapt to the new era of the new Cambodia, i.e., the rule of law should be used and be respected by all, like it or not, the law is the law. and stop finding fault that the enforcement is weak or what have you. the system is only weak when the leaders have bad intention like breaking the law, etc... everybody should start doing what is right for Cambodia, instead of for their own personal interest or personal gain. I say Khmer people and citizens should look toward the brighter future, not backward. be wise, smart, enlightened, educated, informed, open-minded, flexible, adaptable and do modify certain aspect of Khmer thinking to tune up with the rest of the world. of course Cambodia can different, but we can also be the same as every other nations as well. I just wish Cambodia the best and Khmer people and citizens peace, prosperity, development, abundance, happiness and good health. god bless my country Cambodia and all our beautiful Khmer people and citizens.
Cambodia is not hopeless anymore. during election, it is political candidate right to compete with each other so Cambodia deserves the best leader(s). and after the election is over, everyone should get back to working with each other again; that's the truth democracy in Cambodia. think wisely about it, ok!
