Dear Ms. Jendhamuni,

It is certainly a refresher course for me in Khmer!

I guess I never know how much I have forgotten some Khmer words.

Thank you!

cheung, thbaung, keut, lech, cheung cheang khang keut, cheung cheang khang lech, keut cheang khang thbaung, lech cheang khang thbaung, etc.

Those are easier for me to remember as a literary and lingual plebeian

these are formal names in khmer for cordinal directions. the common names of these are choeung(north), t'boung(south), koert(east), and lache(west).

it's like cordinal direction and ordinal direction or formal/informal names in khmer.

I listen to the www.worldkhmerradioonline.com, and I found 2 very knowledgeable persons who provide Khmer cultural program for the radio:

Mr Mey Sophy lives in France, provides very accurate Khmer measurement on weight, distance... from the very old Khmer system.

Mr Nuon Sok Vang lives in USA provides a very beautiful tale of SARAMANY, the secret life in Khmer Royal Palace.

I learn so much from the program and consider to make contact to the presenters for their brilliant work to bring to KI.

I heard all those 8 names of them, but wouldn't know their direction beside the four "Cheung, tboang, lech, kert".
