Khmer People Committee for Freedom (KPCF)
03 January 2009
Statement
The Khmer People Committee for Freedom (KPCF) would like to announce to all Khmer people, Khmer Nationalists, Democracy-lovers and all those who want their freedom that KPCF categorically refuses to recognize the 07 January as a Khmer people and nation’s holiday.
KPCF considers 07 January as the date of the Yuon’s invasion of Cambodia, the date of their plundering of Khmer wealth, and their total occupation of Cambodian land. They continued on their killing of Khmer people in the K5 zone through the installation of Hun Sen, a communist dictator and a Pol Pot No. 2, and they let him apply the communist Indochinese doctrine. Therefore, the Khmer people should not be grateful about this date and should not consider this date as a national holiday.
07 January was borne out of 17 April 1975, the date of the communist victory. Indochinese communists organized the killing fields which took away many lives of Khmer people and intellectuals, and they created a new policy to cheat Khmer people while Cambodia still remains under the occupation of the Indochinese communists led by the Yuon.
Because of this 07 January, Khmer people continue to die, lose their lands, forests, wildlife, fisheries, minerals, they continue to live under injustice, they have no full freedom as Cambodian, they live under corruption and poverty, and there are currently 19 Yuon associations in Cambodia’s municipals and provinces, and more than 4 million Yuons, including civilians, soldiers, police officers and spies now live in Cambodia.
