Khmer People Committee for Freedom (KPCF)

03 January 2009
Statement

The Khmer People Committee for Freedom (KPCF) would like to announce to all Khmer people, Khmer Nationalists, Democracy-lovers and all those who want their freedom that KPCF categorically refuses to recognize the 07 January as a Khmer people and nation’s holiday.

KPCF considers 07 January as the date of the Yuon’s invasion of Cambodia, the date of their plundering of Khmer wealth, and their total occupation of Cambodian land. They continued on their killing of Khmer people in the K5 zone through the installation of Hun Sen, a communist dictator and a Pol Pot No. 2, and they let him apply the communist Indochinese doctrine. Therefore, the Khmer people should not be grateful about this date and should not consider this date as a national holiday.

07 January was borne out of 17 April 1975, the date of the communist victory. Indochinese communists organized the killing fields which took away many lives of Khmer people and intellectuals, and they created a new policy to cheat Khmer people while Cambodia still remains under the occupation of the Indochinese communists led by the Yuon.

Because of this 07 January, Khmer people continue to die, lose their lands, forests, wildlife, fisheries, minerals, they continue to live under injustice, they have no full freedom as Cambodian, they live under corruption and poverty, and there are currently 19 Yuon associations in Cambodia’s municipals and provinces, and more than 4 million Yuons, including civilians, soldiers, police officers and spies now live in Cambodia.

Khmer People Committee for Freedom (KPCF)

04 November 2008

To All Cambodians both inside and outside of the country

Subject: Calling all Cambodians both inside and outside the country to write a petition asking the UN to help resolve through the agreements of Paris Peace Accords the violation of Cambodia sovereignty.

Based on the subject above, KPCF believes that Cambodia led by Mr. Hun Sen is seriously violating the 23 October 1991 Paris Peace Accords.

1- The unilateral non-recognition of the Paris Peace Accords by Mr. Hun Sen, whereas the accords were signed by 4 parties to provide peace and freedom rights to Cambodia, under the supervision of 19 signatory counties and under the co-presidency of Indonesia and France. Among the signatory countries were Thailand and Vietnam.

2- The violation of Cambodia sovereignty by neighboring countries who were signatories of the Paris Peace Accords. These counties included Thailand – the fomenter of the dispute in the Preah Vihear area – and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – which sent in 50,000 troops to Cambodia prior and following the 15 October 2008 incident, troops that are hidden by the Cambodian People Party (CPP) and that are denied by Mr. Hun Sen.

KPCF believes that the unilateral non-recognition of the Paris Peace Accords by Mr. Hun Sen led to the loss of Cambodia sovereignty.

KPCF hopes that all Cambodians who were born in Cambodia and who are of Cambodian origin, will ensure that this endeavor is pushed forward, as this is their duty as Khmer.

Please accept my highest respect.
