According to a report by the Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper, police commissioner Touch Naroth, could be replaced by a general coming from the Ministry of Interior (Moi). The newspaper reported that Brigadier general Touch Naroth could be replaced by 2-star general Thong Lim who is currently the director of the MoI department of immigration. The information reported that the decision for this replacement has already been made and that it only awaits an official announcement only. Rasmei Kampuchea said that Touch Naroth refused to reply to questions in the afternoon on 26 July, claiming that he was too busy, he then hung up the phone. Touch Naroth was the former police commissioner in Kompong Chhnang province, and he was moved to the same position in Phnom Penh to replace Heng Pov for almost 2 years. During the era of the People’s Republic of Kampuchea, Thong Lim was the deputy police commissioner for Phnom Penh city in charge of criminal cases, and he is currently the director of the MoI department of immigration.
