"If only people belonging in the winning parties can obtain positions, and have jobs, then what’s the use of opening schools and universities anymore?" - An amnesiac Hun Sen forgetting that all high-ranking gov't positions belong to CPP party members, some of whom, like himself, never attended a single day of school.Prime minister Hun Sen called on all political parties in Cambodia to stop duping the population from now one, and he also asked the Cambodian people to stop being duped anymore, because one decade-long of duping is enough. Hun Sen made this comment during the breaking ground of the construction site for the road to Bokor mountain, in the morning of 19 January, in Kampot province.
Hun Sen recalled that in Cambodia, there is certainly a number people who became poor because they were duped by political parties, some even sold all their lands to help the parties, and at the end, they have nothing left. Hun Sen added that, soon, the election will arrive, therefore people should stop selling their houses and lands anymore. Hun Sen considered these cases as a culture of duping wealth in exchange for positions. Hun Sen added that such cases do not take place, because to obtain positions, one must compete in an exam. If only people belonging in the winning parties can obtain positions, and have jobs, then what’s the use of opening schools and universities anymore?
Hun Sen added that some parties accused that there is no social equity, but yet went on to promise to the people that if it wins the election, it will give the positions of provincial or district governors to such and such persons. The selection of government officials must abide by an exam competition, and these officials also have their own ranks. There is no possibility of providing positions automatically at all.
Hun Sen said that we (the CPP) are corrupt, but as for them (other political parties), they do not hold on to power yet, and they already violate the law for government officials already. Therefore, all students must clearly understand this issue, if they want to work, they must take exam in a fair manner.
