A Cambodian woman has just had her divorce application dismissed by an Islamic court in Malaysia because they say that they have no record of her marriage.
The woman, 24-year-old Siti Aishah Chou Abdullah, was told that she would have to formally register the marriage before she could divorce her husband whom she married in Kuala Lumpur in 2003.
The couple have 2 chidren together, but their marriage began to fall apart when the husband, Wan Ismail Wan Jusoh, decided he wanted to take a third wife. Siti is his second wife.
