I am not at all ignorant of what had happened or of what is happening in the 21st century Cambodia.
Every day, people sent me from Phnom Penh newspaper articles, and from time to time, interesting newspapers articles from Europe and America on today’s Cambodia, as well as articles from “Radio Free Asia.”
However, I have decided, once and for all, not to mingle with Cambodian political affairs or others.
As for the FUNCINPEC, for many long years already, it no longer belongs to me. I was given the title (which honors me very much) of Father of the Nation and of National Unity. To deserve this very fine title, I have to and will have to remain above the factions and political Parties. I should not interfere in their affairs. I should only wish to all my beloved men and women Compatriots good health, long life, happiness, peace, prosperity. And I am wishing them one more time these sincere and fervent wishes, with my deepest affection.
