Playing an explosive blame game, Serei Kosal presents himself as a self-righteous Funcinpec official

F'pec Serei Kosal is blaming incompetent Funcinpec officials on Prince Norodom Sirivudh. He also professed his support to Hun Sen who, in contrast to Serei Kosal, blamed the nomination of incompetent Funcinpec officials on the group of devil foxes who are mistresses to high ranking Funcinpec officials - one of the devil foxes was identified as "La Phalla" by King-Father. Serei Kosal asks Hun Sen for his “green light” to remove incompetent officials and those who obtain their position through briberies

Phnom Penh – Mr. Serei Kosal declared his support to the speech given by prime minister Hun Sen regarding the work accomplished by Funcinpec recently. He also asked the prime minister for his “green light” so that Funcinpec, a government coalition partner, can replace Funcinpec government officials who are incompetent and those who obtained their positions through briberies.

Mr. Serei Kosal, a senior official in the Funcinpec party and vice-president of the National Committee for Disaster Management, told Rasmey Kampuchea on the afternoon of 21 March 2006, that the political situation in Cambodia has evolved noticeably lately because prime minister Hun Sen had openly denounced, during various public meetings, the internal dealings of the Funcinpec party, like the case of Funcinpec nominating incompetent government officials or those who pay bribes.

Mr. Serei Kosal said that he supports all the declarations made prime minister Hun Sen regarding the internal dealings of Funcinpec because under the direction of Prince Norodom Sirivudh as Funcinpec party secretary-general, there were a lot of government officials nominated by Funcinpec who obtained their position irregularly through “corruption”, even though Serei Kosal admitted that this situation existed before the coalition of Funcinpec to the formation of the government. Not only that, because of his criticisms [to the Funcinpec irregular conduct,] Serei Kosal was close to being removed from the party.

Mr. Serei Kosal added that with his support, he considers the declaration of the prime minister as a lantern shining light on Funcinpec, his coalition partner, to follow the right path. That is why, recently, Prince Norodom Ranariddh decided to remove Prince Sirivudh from the position of secretary-general of the party, and replaced him with Mr. Nhiek Bun Chhay instead. Because the CPP has more political experience, has more work experience, has more manpower, and has clear direction, that is why it is openly criticizing the Funcinpec party so it can reform itself to conform with the current political situation.

Relating to the installation of Mr. Nhiek Bun Chhay, Mr. Serei Kosal declared that he views this as being a real reform based on the solid union of the Funcinpec party. Therefore, Serei Kosal asked the prime minister for his “green light” so that Funcinpec has the ability to replace Funcinpec officials who are incompetent and those who obtained their government positions through briberies. This would allow the reform to be successful [for Funcinpec].
