While the Vietnamese are training their people to install border markers to defend their territorial sovereignty, what did the Hun Sen regime do?

Officials trained on building peaceful border with Cambodia
04/14/2006

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) - More than 150 officials from 10 southwestern border provinces are attending a three-day training course on delimitation and marker plantation on the Viet Nam-Cambodia border.

The training course, which will last from April 13-15, is held with the aim of contributing to defending the country's territorial sovereignty, while building a peaceful border with Cambodia.

Working visits by Vietnamese and Cambodian leaders in recent years have contributed to boosting the two countries' ties towards stability and development. The two sides established and brought into play a number of cooperative mechanisms such as the Joint Committees and the Cooperation Committees of border provinces.

As for economic ties, the two-way trade turnover in 2005 reached 692 million USD, an increase of 34 percent in comparison with 2004. The two sides agreed to work toward achieving 1 billion USD in trade turn-over in 2006.

Viet Nam and Cambodia also signed a variety of cooperation agreements on education and training, healthcare, transport, and culture and information. The signing of a supplementary treaty to the 1985 Treaty on the Delimitation of State Border recently was a break-through in resolving land-border issues between the two countries, moving towards a final settlement on Viet Nam - Cambodia land-border matters in late 2008. -Enditem

Border issue, Cambodia government is so stupid to sign border deal with VN. This issue should be brought up with UN, not VN. Why we place the border marker with VN. These markers should be done by UN. The king do nothing to stop this matter. He just plays a part of it. First VN cut down the palm trees in some provinces to eliminate the khmer identity, then they give us 2 old navy boats, then they send their buddish monks to calm us down, then they send their doctors to help us cool down the anger, then they help us to build hospital to make sure we are still more-on, and next step VN will send Diep Lam srey youns to get us to heaven, and take all our land. They rob our land in day time in land dispute along their border. Wake up the Khmer government and where is the king... going to hiding again every time he gets mad. always run away from the issue.

Wake up and Stand up for yourself.

I am sick of what the Khmer goverment and the royal family are doing to their country. They have no shame. There is no goverment in Cambodia. The Khmer goverment is run by its neighbors. There is nothing for free stupid. Stop putting your hand out asking for money from others. It is time to think for yourself. The war is over. And stop using your country and her people as prostitutes. Your neighbors are screwing you any chance they get. Why! because they know that Cambodia is run by a bunch of kindergarten and they only fight among themself. The Khmer goverment is too affraid to stand up to their neighbors because the neighbors are their bosses. I am so glad to get the hell out of that black hole. But it is very sad, every time I think of Cambodia I see a lot of people like myself and my children still trap in the cycle of misery.I am very fortunate to live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. And Thank God I am Free.

I am glad you are still thinking about Cambodia and her people. It is quite rare to come across a person with a great passion for his/her country. Perhaps, you and the other Cambodians in the U.S can be the first one to stand up against the government like some people in Cambodia have done to save our nation from misery. Remember the pol pot regime started with about 30 people. We can make a difference if really want to.
