A so-called "underwear gang" struck on Friday night in Kandal province's Kien Svay district, robbing the residents of two homes of an undisclosed amount of jewelry and money, police said on Sunday. Five members of the gang—which, like others of its sort, commits armed robberies clad only in briefs—were involved in the Friday robberies, armed with an AK-47 rifle, local newspapers reported District police Chief Maing Pich confirmed the report and added that police were investigating. He declined to comment further. Provincial penal police department chief Chhun Sarom said it was the province's first robbery of its nature.
