When: Sunday June 25th, 2006 at 4:00 p.m.
Where: MacKay United Church, 39 Dufferin Road in New Edinburgh (Ottawa, Canada)

A group of Ottawa youth wants to make a difference in the lives of children in Cambodia. Kids Helping Kids/Enfants Solidaires, an initiative developed by 13-year-old Suzuki-trained violinist, Laurent Côté, will feature six outstanding young Ottawa musicians (between 12 and 16) in a classical music concert to raise funds for the Peaceful Children’s Homes in Cambodia. Canadian-born international concert pianist Janina Fialkowska is the Honorary Patron for the concert.

Flora Liebich, an Ottawa resident, has supported the Homes for many years. These two residential homes provide care and education to some 200 children, between the ages of 3 and 18, who are orphans, street children, victims of human trafficking or come from families affected by HIV-AIDS. When she spoke of the difficulties faced by the Cambodian children to Laurent, he took the cause to heart and enlisted his friends to perform in the concert and to help create a concert Website.

Kids Helping Kids is looking for donations to the silent auction that will follow the concert, as well as food and drinks for the reception. Volunteers are welcome.

Tickets ($15 for adults, $5 for children) are available at:

A Better Frame of Mind (417 MacKay St.)

Ten Thousand Villages (371 Richmond Rd.), or at the door.
