VietNamNet - Vietnam and Cambodia signed an agreement on working conditions for construction of highway 78's section from Ban Lung to O Yadav in Ratanakiri province of Cambodia in Phnom Penh on June 27.
Signatories were Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Transport Ngo Thinh Duc and Cambodian State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation Tram Iv Tek.
The two officials later witnessed the signing of the contract between the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Transport Engineering Design Corporation (TEDI) of Vietnam.
Under the contract, TEDI will produce a detailed design of highway 78 by October 2006.
Earlier, Deputy Minister Ngo Thinh Duc headed a delegation of the Transport Ministry on a working session with a delegation of the Cambodia Ministry of Public Works and Transportation led by Tram Iv Tek.
The two sides worked on the upgrade of highway 78 and on the construction of Long Binh-Chrey Thom bridge, which will link Vietnam's southern An Giang province with Cambodia's Kandal province.
Discussions also focused on the implementation of the Agreement on Land Transport signed by the two governments in October 2005, including opening to traffic four border gates between the two countries.
They worked out a plan for exchanges of experiences and personnel training between the two ministries.
The Vietnamese fact-finding delegation began their Cambodia visit on June 26 and is scheduled to conclude the visit on June 30.

This is the highway of more illegal Vietname immigrant! The highway of black market to kill Cambodia tax base business! The highway of cheap shoddy products for dumping into Cambodian market!
That is fine by me beause AH HUN SEN is one stupid mothefuker anyway! If the Vietcong want to start shit and Cambodian people reserve the right to turn this highway into the highway of death for all Vietcong!
Highway 78? In 1978 the Vietcong invaded Cambodia with the help of HUN SEN. I told you. The Vietcong will only do thing to remind Cambodian people of their victory over Cambodia. I hope this Highway will be destroy after it is completely built! Cambodian people need to remind the Vietcong of the Khmer Krom full independence from Vietname!
Why don't we build hight way from Phnom Penh to the town instead from Vietnam?
