There Is a Bid To Lure Prak Sokhon from the Council of Ministers Cabinet To Replace Cham Prasith at the Trade Ministry

Because Ung You Teckhor, alias Cham Prasith, and his wife Tep Bopha Prasith together with all their kith and kin have turned the Trade Ministry of the Hun Sen government into their exclusive turf, most Cambodian People's Party [CPP] officials are not very pleased. Besides, moderate CPP officials have expressed regret at the decline of the party's popularity among the tens of thousands of Cambodian workers because of the oppression by the factory owners and the indifference of the ministers of trade and social actions, who are important CPP personalities.

In particular, according to the CPP officials, the Trade Ministry whose authority has been monopolized by Ung You Teckhor, alias Cham Prasith, his wife Tep Bopha Prasith, and all their kith and kin has had the most red tape.

Because the Trade Ministry is controlled by such an extremely corrupt minister, his family members have set up so many stages of red tape. In other words, people say there are many desks for paperwork from the entrance of the ministry building all the way to the front door of the minister's room itself.

With so many checkpoints set up in this manner, how could the investors or the factory or enterprise owners not exploit the workers to make up for the kickbacks they have to pay?

This problem has led the workers to demonstrate or strike and to despite the government leaders, for whenever the workers protest, the Hun Sen government's forces would launch operations openly to crack down on the protesters in the cruelest manner.

Therefore, if Cham Prasith, a man of Chinese origin otherwise known as Ung You Teckhor, continued to engage in corruption all over the Trade Ministry, the CPP would not get any votes from the tens of thousands of workers.

Based on this reason, there was a secret attempt to lure Hun Sen's smart guy Prak Sokhon to leave the Cabinet of the Council of Ministers [CCM] and go to the Trade Ministry to replace Cham Prasith. Through this ploy, the CPP officials expected to win back the support of the workers at various factories and enterprises.

However, this movement to get Hun Sen's smart guy Prak Sokhon out of the CCM and to replace the corrupt Cham Prasith was purportedly part of Sok An's work as well. The reason is that since being appointed by Hun Sen to stay close to Sok An in the current "package" term, Prak Sokhon has become a big hindrance to Sok An. Prak Sokhon knows everything in the CCM and this has prevented Sok An from doing whatever he pleases as the previous terms.

At the same time, an official at the CCM has disclosed that in the former terms offerings, tea money, and gifts poured into Sok An's office unimpeded. However, during this "package" term, Sok An's income has been split to a certain extent, for Prak Sokhon also has the right to sign the so-called communiques.

Some other sources said that Sok An and Prak Sokhon have about the same capacity but Sok An is much more tricky. Therefore, the bid to push Prak Sokhon out of the CCM and make him replace Cham Prasith at the Trade Ministry could partly be the devilish idea of Sok An, for leaving Prak Sokhon near him is tantamount to blocking his doorway with thorny branches.

As for Cham Prasith, few in the party support him. Most party officials do not want him to canvass support for the party. For this reason, Cham Prasith has been removed from the Siemreab constituency and reassigned to Kep City instead.

The source in the CPP said that at this latest stage, Cham Prasith is in panic because he does not think he could win support for the CPP in Kep City. If Cham Prasith failed to win vote in Kep City, he would automatically lose everything.

It was said that if Sok An succeeded in transferring Prak Sokhon from the CCM to the Trade Ministry to replace Ung You Teckhor, alias Cham Prasith, it would be Sok An's great victories. First, Sok An would be able to defeat Cham Prasith, making him lose his pants in the final round by using an apparently nonviolent method.

The second victory is that at the CCM, no one would be a bone in Sok An's throat. He would be free to do whatever he likes there.

Anyway, removing Ung You Teckhor, alias Cham Prasith, from the Trade Ministry is believed to be unavoidable. The in-depth reform in the style of this corrupt minister is not different than allowing the Trade Ministry to be used as a cooking pot for feeding his own family. This newspaper will cover any subsequent developments to this report.

Wow! This is very refreshing article regarding Cham Prashit!ahah

Ah Sok An better watch himself too for Cambodian people are watching him every move! Like they said, the criminals know the police are out there to catch and to look for them but why are these criminals still commit crime?
The answer is the criminals sometimes forget that the police are out there looking for them and so they keep on committing crime!

Sok An is being to forgetful!ahah
By the way, I hope Sok An's daughter graduated from UCLA with enough knowledge to understand basic economic 101. The sad part is that AH Sok An didn't allow Cambodia to pratice economic 101 but only practice corruption instead.
