"Prime Minister Hun Sen's plan to use his non-independent court to deal with Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh, the leader of the FUNCINPEC [National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful, and Cooperative Cambodia] Party, over his many corrupt practices hinders his return to Cambodia." This is according to an article by Sachchak from the 24 July edition of the pro-opposition Cambodian daily Phnom Penh Sralanh Khmer posted in the Khmernews portal.
The report said that Prince Ranariddh had been "criticized" especially by the Cambodian People's Party leadership for corruption in the construction of the new national assembly building, which cost more than $27 million. Another "major" corrupt practice committed by the prince had been found in the "renovation of Olympic Stadium" in Phnom Penh.
The report added that with the two matters, if Hun Sen had the "intention to harm" Prince Ranariddh, he could use the non-independent court at his beck and call at ease to bar the prince from returning home. He just ordered his lawyer to file a lawsuit to the court against the prince, then the latter would "dare not" come back.
The report also said that with his underlings being put in jail and many other pursued, Prince Ranariddh "got goose bumps." He even felt pricklier once he was aware that a group of people's representatives asked FUNCINPEC Education Minister Kol Pheng to "surrender" to the National Assembly the document that authorized Taiwan Yan Tai Company to renovate Olympic Stadium. The move, it seemed, constituted a large barrier preventing the prince from being able to return," the report observed.
The report said that at a meeting between Prince Ranariddh and FUNCINPEC leaders "to be held in Malaysia on 26 July," even if he were asked to return, the prince would "not take a risk of doing so immediately," for fear of being dealt by the court. And now, since Prince Thomico, too, was calling for the dissolution of the FUNCINPEC Party to "unite the royals," it was "better for Prince Ranariddh to continue living in exile than returning home in fear and trembling," the Sralanh Khmer report concluded.

this is such a drama! the person who is very famous for his corruption sues another person who is also well-known for his corruption. Is this all that Cambodian government can do for the country? Try to push one another down in order to get more power? This is rediculous!
Just let Ah kwak sue ah kwen first. Then ah kwen entourages will sue ah kwak and all of them will in jail. When they are all jail, we can poor petrol onto the prison to burn them all mart like ashes.
