Eight men arrested Monday at the Kandal province home of wanted former Phnom Penh police chief Heng Pov were questioned Thursday afternoon at the municipal court, officials said.
The Interior Ministry's Penal Police chief Mok Chito said the men will likely be charged with illegal possession of weapons.
'They've been at the court since two o'clock for questioning," said the court’s Prosecutor Ouk Savuth. "They're still being questioned by our clerks so they are not being charged today."
Police this week have searched Heng Pov's Takhmau district and Phnom Penh homes, arresting the eight men as well as seizing firearms, counterfeit US currency and $300,000 in cash. They have also frozen a local bank account containing $1 million in the former police chief’s name.
National police chief Hok Lundy said Heng Pov remains in Singapore, where he fled on July 23.
"Heng Pov is still in Singapore and he is still at large," he said. "He has not yet been arrested by Singaporean police. We can’t force them to arrest him for us immediately."
Cambodia has requested the assistance of Singaporean police, said Jonathan Lim, second secretary at the Singapore Embassy.
"Well be offering all the necessary assistance, " he said, adding that the embassy was unaware of Heng Pov's current location.
Singaporean television Channel NewsAsia reported on its Web site Wednesday evening that Heng Pov was also being sought in connection with the death of a Singaporean man. However, Lim said he was unaware of that case.
Khieu Sopheak, spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said Thursday that during Monday's search in Takhmau, police discovered a CD-ROM containing plans for an assassination.
An individual named Un Sokunthy is named as a target for assassination on the CD-ROM, Khieu Sopheak said. Police do not know the intended target he said, before declining to provide further details.

Heng Pov was reported by RFA today that the government, Hun Sen, has freezed his $1,000,000 US bank account.
What surprise me the most was how that police chief become a millionair?
If that police chief, Heng Pow, can become a millionair, those big succers who are above him like Hun Sen, Sok An, Chea Sim, Heng Somrin and many more, they are probably coming close to a billionaire by now. What's a Cambodian blood sucker!
Between two photos, one of the 8 on the left of Heng Pov in civilian clothes also appeared on the rear left of Heng Pov in full costumes as an officer?
Busted! These criminals look fuken funny when they got busted!
One day these criminals make all the money and one day these criminals will lost all the money!
The one at the center and in the middle sure look like pig!
