THE Cambodian former municipal police chief who is wanted by his country for assassinating a judge has been turned away by the Australian high commission in Singapore, said his Australian lawyers.
According to The Australian newspaper, Heng Pov — who fled to Singapore on July 23 — had tried to apply for political asylum at the high commission on Tuesday, but was told to apply to the United Nations refugee agency.
He has since lodged an application for refugee status with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in Singapore.
The fugitive's lawyer David Chen wrote an appeal on Thursday to Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, describing his client as a senior government official in hiding.
"He is in fear for his life and those of his family in Cambodia. There is no doubt that should he go back he would face persecution," the letter said. "Chances are that he will be assassinated."
The letter also claimed Heng Pov — who was an adviser to Prime Minister Hun Sen — feared he could be returned to Cambodia or assassinated by Cambodian agents in Singapore.
Earlier this week, Singapore police confirmed they had received a request for help from their Cambodian counterparts about Heng Pov, who is wanted for questioning about three attempted assassinations and the killing of a Singaporean man. There is no extradition treaty between the two countries.
Mr Chen said his client's wife and her family have been under house arrest since she returned to Cambodia on Monday. The lawyer hoped to enlist Mr Downer's help "to resolve his status issue".
According to The Australian, a Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman said it was standard practice not to comment on applications for refugee status.

Good on you to have found a lawyer. I have no doubt that you are a corrupted official. But compare you and Hun Sen and Hok Lundy, it will be away out. You need to write to Unite Nation why Hun Sen and Hok Lundy are thirsty of your blood. They need to drink all your blood.

Large amount of money may cause Australia government to consider his application. If Australia does, Australia will become a sanctury place for all corrupt and criminal element from oversea.
The son and daughter of the corrupt Hun Neng are living happily in Australia. Furthermore, the corrupt FUNCINPEC official, Mr. Morm Bun Neang also seeking his safe heaven in Australia. He may deposit $1 million in Australia Bank for his security to be accepted by the Australia government next month. His man in Australia are running all his necessary requirement with Australian Immegration.

Anyway, Heng Pov fears of assassination, what about the countless victim he killed and other victim he have threatened, would they have any chance to flight oversea as him?
Send him back to Cambodia.

Even, Heng Pov will acept by Aust, he wouln't reveal what happen, who behinh him in Cambodia during his position as police commisioner. Because his family live under control of Hok Longdy.
As a saying "a winner is a King, a loser is a thief". Heng Pov is a thief now. He was under Hok Laundy, why Hok Laundy did not take any responsibility? I don't believe everything that the Hun Sen's men said. I wish Heng Pov can receive political asylum and reveal every about the assasinations in Cambodia. I would agree with the idea of finding out those masterminded of crimes committed, but they must turn their mind to those who were killed by this gov't police officer. Sending Heng Pov to the Thugs in Phnom Penh then the FBI won't have evidence to nail Cambodian Mafia, the organize crime families of Hok Lundi and Hun Sen. Furthermore, those billion of dollars to Cambodia did do nothing to the country, and it has been proved already by Hun Sen's thugs. Heng Pove is really a corrupt Phnom Penh Police Chief while he was in office. Also, he surely did crimes, corruption, and so on. If not, how can he have so much US$ in the bank, much US$ in cash at home and even FAKE US$.
Similarly, one-eyed Vietnamese PUPET HUN SEN is really bad and corrupt man. He has done so many criminals and so on in order to be in power.

I think Australian Gov't or US Gov't should accept Heng POV and guarentee the safety of his family members IN RETURN FOR THE EVIDENCE OF BAD EVIL DEEDS OF HUN SEN, HOK LONDY and many other Cambodian People Party members who are now in top positions in Cambodia.
Get them out and give Cambodian people full safe and justic right to choose the best leader for themselves.
I believe all Hun Sen people(Hun Senists) do not want to see the justice from the genocide crime and corruptions committed by Hun Sen and his laquais. That's why they really want Heng Pov to be killed in Cambodia. So they can keep their own party absolute power as long as they want in order to kill more Cambodian people and immigrate more more Vietnameses people to occupy the entire Cambodia. Because Heng Pov is very intersting for the world justice by his bringing as a witness of the seceret crimes and corruptions of a little dictator Hun Sen and his entourage(Ah mey ah Thongs)Even though Heng Pov might commit some crime too. But whatever he did just under Hun Sen's order or direction, I believed. So we should pray for Heng Pov to be alive for getting more informations or more important investigations in order to save our Cambodia from becoming to Vietnam,our historic enemy.
