The Singapore entry pass of fugitive former Phnom Penh police chief Heng Pov will expire Wednesday, the Interior Ministry's Penal Police Chief Mok Chito said Sunday. It is unclear what will happen to the disgraced officer, who is wanted in Cambodia for a host of crimes, when the deadline passes, Mok Chito said. "We will know what will happen on the 16th when his visa runs out," he said. Heng Pov has not flown out of Singapore since arriving last month, he added. "All passenger [documents] have been checked and his name and picture have not been seen," he said. "There are rumors flying around. We will be informed if he leaves Singapore." Officials at the Singaporean Embassy could not be reached for comment.

Of course HENG POV is a crook. He already plead guilty of two counts for bribery and conspiracy to commit 1997 drug trafficking. Not to mention other pending charges. But the fact of the matter is any prosecutor is this extraordinary case would want to strive a plead bargain deal with the defendent to get into entire criminal network/syndicate. Remember the world known collapsed-ENRON telecom company. The Federal prosecutor and grand jury did a lot of bargaining to catch the big crooks.
