1- Police officials denie former Police Commissioner Heng Pov's comments to Australia news media and his lawyer that he will not go back to Cambodia for fear of being assassinated, since he knew about corruptions and drug problems with the Cambodian government.
In an important interview with Australia's AAP, Mr. Heng Pov claims to have evidence of official corruption involving chronic bribery, drug smuggling and murder at the highest levels.
He said he fears he will be killed if he returns. He says he seeks political asylum after failing to carry out murder orders of opponents.
Ministry of Interior's spokesman Khieu Sopheak, and Interior Ministry Deputy Penal Police Chief, Mak Chito call these allegations fabrications.
Mr. Heng Pov was wanted by authorities on murder charges.
2- Royalist FUNCINPEC party top officials sent a petition to the party leader, Prince Norodom Ranaridh, for his return, and for his alliance with Prime Minister Hun Sen's Cambodian People's Party (CPP).
The petition also supports Mr. Nhek Bun Chhay in his position as FUNCINPEC's Secretary, for internal unity. FUNCINPEC undergoes internal reforms after some of its members lost positions at the Ministry of Interior and provincial governors.
3- Moroccan delegate minister for foreign affairs and cooperation, Mr. Taieb El Fassi Rihri, will lead a delegation to Cambodia for a 3-day visit from 8-9 to 8-11 for cooperation between the two countries, say Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
Mr. Fassi Rihri will have an audience with King Sihamoni, and will meet National Assembly's President, Heng Samrin.
