An e-mail received here on Saturday publicized a Chilean-born Australian author's defiance of a local court's verdict on Friday that he should pay 2,410 U.S. dollars as compensation for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for he was found guilty of defaming Hun Sen by saying that the Cambodian Prime Minister used violence to mute his critics and opponents.
"Even I had the money, I would not pay the fine, as to do so would be to recognize the mockery of justice, the corruption and lack of impartiality of the legal system that exists in that Southeast Asian country," said Julio Jeldres, famous as official biographer of former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk, in his e- mail sent from Melbourne, Australia.
"I maintain my assertion that the prime minister is a violent ruler," said Jeldres, who was also ordered by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to pay a fine of 1,928 U.S. dollars to the government, for he was quoted as saying on the April 7 edition of the Cambodian Daily that "As you know, every time Prime Minister Hun Sen makes a threat, someone gets killed or wounded by unknown gangsters."
The prime minister sued the author after the paper was published. Jeldres then stayed in Australia and was absent at the court when the verdict was passed.
Jeldres founded the non-profit Khmer Institute of Democracy in Cambodia. He used to be a leading critic of the government.

get a clue and get on the road with progress. You're just another apathetic bitter Khmer who can't do anything for himself so you criticize others who stand for the right things. I for one am very honor that a foreign is helping leading the way to the protest of this corruption and unjust government. Whatever political side one is in, if one sees the truth and stand firm by it it is an action worth praising and emulating so that the changes everyone want will truly come.
Keep on doing what you doing Jeldres and Rainsy. Do not give in to what the government want unless it is right with the principals and law of the country. We don't need to be scare of anybody who bully us.
If you are not working for Sihanouk, you do need to do anything with Sihanouk but write a letter to Hun Sen to tell him fuck off, have a life !!!

Mr SAM RAINSY MEETS HUON XEN IN PARIS?
According the newspaper SRALANH KHMER published on Saturday 16 September 2006, one member of CCP said that HUON XEN would try to meet Mr Sam Rainsy and Mrs Tioulong Saumura in Paris and ask THEM to intervene with sister-in-law’s Sam Rainsy, Mrs ANTONIA TIOULONG NOSEDA who is in charge of the publication of the weekly magazine EXPRESS, to stop publishing DOCUMENTS or ALLEGATIONS of HENG POV anymore.
Apparently Mr Sam Rainsy left Phnom-Penh to PARIS on Thursday 14th at 8 pm (instead of Saturday 16th as planned) while HUONG XEN was in PARIS AT THIS TIME as well (IS THAT JUST A COINCIDENCE?), after he had left the ASEM SUMMIT in FINLAND LAST WEEK, and would return to Phnom-Penh on Saturday 16 September.
One another source said that, on last July, HUONG XEN had also tried to make contact by phone with Mr Sam Rainsy while the latter was in visit in America. HUONG XEN would have requested Mr Sam Rainsy not to get involved in an internal CCP problem , especially HENG POV's, that what Mr Sam Rainsy could have agreed.
When Mr SamRainsy came back to Phnom-Penh, he called his members to abstain from getting involved in HENG POV affair that, (in his own opinion, but not in the public opinion), is just an INTERNAL CCP PROBLEM .
As a strong and loyal supporter of Samrainsyparty, I would request him to take account for the rumour above that could undermine your reputation as a GREAT PATRIOT.
