Minister: Police Should Check Cafes for Porn

As part of a new push to enforce social morality, the government may soon have local authorities monitor activities inside Internet shops to stop the viewing of pornography, officials said Friday.
Minister of Post and Telecommunications So Khun said in a telephone interview that he is pushing for the police to take up the role of Internet monitors.
"Police should inspect and educate," he said of Internet shop customers who download smut.
So Khun said that while locally hosted Web sites can be screened for pornography on line, Cambodia does not have the resources to screen international Web sites—a task requiring more than 100,000 civil servants surfing the Internet full-time in China.
Instead, police should watch what goes on in Cambodia's estimated 1,000 Internet sites, he said.
The ministry is part of a Social Morality, Women's Values and Khmer Families Committee that has Prime Minister Hun Sen's wife Bun Rany as its honorary chairman. The committee was created on Aug 23.
This year, Hun Sen banned a Miss Cambodia contest and 3G videophones due to pornography concerns.
MPTC Inspection Department Director Chiem Sangva said that 3G phones are not as much of a problem as the Internet.
"I saw kids and some monks surfing pages and watching porn and sex pictures on the Internet," he said, of a recent visit lo a cafe.
Women's Affairs Minister Ing Kantha Phavy, the chairman of the morality committee, said it will meet soon and may welcome So Khun's proposal.

I strongly support this idea. Cambodians should spend their time working hard to support their families instead of wasting their time on sick barang pornography.

I do not have problem with the law. According to this law, Hun Sen and rannarith are no longer fit to be politician in Cambodia for breaching all these laws. What CPP want to do with these two animals? For Bun Rany, this is an evils ! She has killed so maky people in the past and present.

Mr SAM RAINSY MEETS HUON XEN IN PARIS?
According the newspaper SRALANH KHMER published on Saturday 16 September 2006, one member of CCP said that HUON XEN would try to meet Mr Sam Rainsy and Mrs Tioulong Saumura in Paris and ask THEM to intervene with sister-in-law’s Sam Rainsy, Mrs ANTONIA TIOULONG NOSEDA who is in charge of the publication of the weekly magazine EXPRESS, to stop publishing DOCUMENTS or ALLEGATIONS of HENG POV anymore.
Apparently Mr Sam Rainsy left Phnom-Penh to PARIS on Thursday 14th at 8 pm (instead of Saturday 16th as planned) while HUONG XEN was in PARIS AT THIS TIME as well (IS THAT JUST A COINCIDENCE?), after he had left the ASEM SUMMIT in FINLAND LAST WEEK, and would return to Phnom-Penh on Saturday 16 September.
One another source said that, on last July, HUONG XEN had also tried to make contact by phone with Mr Sam Rainsy while the latter was in visit in America. HUONG XEN would have requested Mr Sam Rainsy not to get involved in an internal CCP problem , especially HENG POV's, that what Mr Sam Rainsy could have agreed.
When Mr SamRainsy came back to Phnom-Penh, he called his members to abstain from getting involved in HENG POV affair that, (in his own opinion, but not in the public opinion), is just an INTERNAL CCP PROBLEM .
As a strong and loyal supporter of Samrainsyparty, I would request him to take account for the rumour above that could undermine your reputation as a GREAT PATRIOT.
