A human rights organization official is surprised over the arrest of former police commissioner and Prime Minister Hun Sen's adviser, Heng Pov's detention.

Cambodia Center for Human Rights' director, Mr. Kem Sokha, says that he would like to investigate this issue, and that if the Singaporean and the Cambodian governments agree on his extradition, he wishes to monitor the situation, since Mr. Heng Pov is an important witness in his 9-page report implicating a number of crimes to Phnom Penh government officials.

Mr. Heng Pov was wanted on murder and serious crimes charges after fleeing to Singapore and seeking political asylum abroad.

Mr. Heng Pov was charged with Phnom Penh judge, honorable Sok Sethamony murder, seriously wounded an electricity official, intended murder of military police commander Sao Sokha, Phnom Penh Municipal court prosecutor, Uk Savuth murder, and other killings.

Ministry of Interior's spokesman, Lieutenant General Khieu Sopheak confirms Mr. Heng Pov's detention by Singapore police Thursday night on visa expiration.

It is not known whether or not he will be extradited to Cambodia.

Cambodia National Police Commissioner, four star general Hok Lundy alleges that he receives news of Mr. Heng Pov's detention, but cannot confirm it because it is still under investigation.

First deputy director of the Cambodian Interpol, Keo Vanthan says he has not received the news yet and declines to comment.

The world is really has no justice. Heng Pov was a highest police chef in Cambodia working under Hun Sen. He was pressured by this crap to create too many criminals activities until this chef has decided to say enough is enough and wanted to walk aways from his position, his powerfull lifestyle, his glorious residence, his noble title( Sihanouk like to use this word), to declare to the world that, Cambodia is presently led by a mafia leader who has ruine his country of his birth for 3 decades. Why, UNHCR cannot give him a fair judgement? How many people will dare to come out like that again? Only MR Bush can give Heng POv a chance?

Cambodia is a begger country and does not have anything to attract US interest .So, the chance of the US come to help Mr. Heng Pov is slim.Unless our Tonle Sap Lake become an oil field, then the US leader will have more interest in Cambodia as in Iraq.
But, if Tonle Sap Lake become oil field ,Cambodian people do not have fresh water to drink , to fish, and to farm, and how could we survive?
I hope the UNHCR will help him.

Hey, OIL OFFSHORE EXPLORATION already on the US menu -- we do have something to offer to the Bush administration and others.

Hun SEn will stay in power for good because of this Oil Reserve that is wanted around the world. Who knows maybe Hun Sen agree to S'pore government on the oil deal to give up Heng Pov.

NO one is safe in Cambodia in the hand of CPP & F'PEC. We need Iran and North Korea to send the Nukes to Phnom Penh, so we can start all over again.

If it is true that Singapore arrested Heng Pov and hand him over to Cambodia government without first extract information from him then I am no longer flying Singapore airline. Singapore is a cilvilize country that ought to know better between right and wrong. It is a chance of a life time that we have someone from the very top level of the clan to offer us the insight of Cambodian goverment. I believe that Heng Pov will be killed if he is sent back home. And the goverment would say he committed suicide.
