The fired university lecturer detained in prison this week for teaching students his own anti-government textbook underwent a psychiatric evaluation in a Phnom Penh hospital on Friday, his lawyer said. Tieng Narith's family has said that the charge of disinformation should be waived because the 30-year-old is mentally ill. Attorney Hong Kimsuon said that his client gave strange answers to the doctors who questioned him. "He answered that he has wanted to be a president since the 3rd grade ... he said he wants to change the current regime ... by writing the book." Dr Ka Sun Baunat, Faculty of Medicine director, said he was one of three mental health professionals that examined Tieng Narith. "The result is not decided," he said. "We will wait and question him again." Tieng Narith faces 6 months to 3 years in jail for teaching his book at Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University.

Prof Tieng Ranith just want to express his opnion and the true history of Cambodia. Those who have arrested him are all idiots.
