ADB plans to loan 20 mln USD to Cambodia for power generation

The Asia Development Bank (ADB) plans to offer 20 million U.S. dollars of loan to Cambodian for generating electricity to meet the demand of the kingdom's travel destination Sihanoukville, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Cooperation Bank of Japan also plans to offer 22.3 million U.S. dollars of loan for the power project, Voice of America in Khmer quoted an ADB press release as saying.

The power project is to be finished in 2010 at a total cost of about 52 million U.S. dollars, it said.

The rest of the budget will be met by Cambodia, it added.
