Chinese army chief visits Cambodia
The Chinese army will stick to long-term cooperation with the Cambodian army in terms of staff training, military trade and logistics donation, while both countries have established ties of good neighbors, friends and partners, Liang Guanglie, visiting chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, said here on Monday.
Liang made the remarks while meeting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister of Defense Tea Banh.
Banh expressed appreciation for the Chinese army's firm support to the Cambodian army.
"The friendship among the Chinese army and the Cambodian army is deep-rooted," he added.
Liang arrived here on Saturday night on the first stop of his goodwill Asia tour which also includes Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.
On Monday, he also met with Prime Minister Hun Sen on bilateral ties and attended the inauguration ceremony of a military hospital 's clinic building.
Liang is here as a guest of Ke Kim Yan, commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. He will leave for Laos on Tuesday.
