Vietnam rubber company stretches into Cambodia

Thanh Nien News (Vietnam)

Vietnam Rubber Corporation (Geruco) reached agreement with Cambodian authorities to cultivate rubber trees in three provinces in the neighboring country.

Authorities in Kratie, Kompongthom, and Mondolkiri provinces greenlighted the project.

Geruco has completed surveys and chosen 100,000 hectares for planting the trees.

The value and length of the contract is not known.

Earlier this month, Geruco announced it was planning to set up a shareholding company called Quasa Geruco to plant rubber and pulp in Cambodia’s Savanakhet province.

The company will be capitalized at VND120 billion (US$7.5 million). Between 2007 and 2010, Quasa Geruco will plant 4,900 hectares of rubber trees in Se Phon and Muong Phin districts.

Geruco has been cultivating rubber in Laos for the last two years.

The Vietcong claimed to target
2 billion dollars trade with Cambodia in the coming years.

Please read my writing correctly, it is the Vietcong that make
2 billion dollars in trade not Cambodia!

To achieve the 2 billion dollars trade with Cambodia, the Vietcong will force AH HUN SEN to evict more Cambodian people off their and make way for rubber tree plantations! The raw material from the rubber trees will be shipped directly to Vietname.

The Vietcong are increasing owning alots of Cambodian land and for the first the Vietcong themselves admitted!

Cambodian people can do nothing without land!
