In reaction to the call for a party congress planned for 18 Oct, Prince Norodom Ranariddh said that this is a violation and a betrayal of the party bylaws.

Prince Ranariddh said: “I am stressing that as legal president of the Funcinpec party, the call for the congress made by H.E. Nhiek Bun Chhay, if he really will hold it, is a violation on the bylaws and the internal rules which clearly state how a congress can be convened. Therefore, I believe that this is both a violation and a betrayal of the bylaws. We are waiting to see the result of this congress whether it will evolve into a betrayal of the Funcinpec party and their members.”

At the same time, Prince Norodom Ranariddh considers the convening of the congress without the authorization from the party president as a dangerous move on the party and on the monarchy.

Prince Ranariddh said: “I am asking all respected and beloved members to think carefully. Tomorrow, you should not follow a small number of politicians who are leading you into danger not only just for the Funcinpec party but also for the monarchy, as well as for the entire nation.”

Rannarith, you are the legal leader of Fucipec before your removal. After the AGM, you are no longer the leader of this party. Please keep quiet. Your political life has gone. Now you can carry on making children with your new love one.
