In a prior text, I wrote that I would not comment on the response of S… T… to the Phnom Penh news media which asked him this question: “Your finances are meager. Your party is poor. Without wealth, how will you win at the 2008 legislative election?” Prince S… T… answered: “The Khmer Rouge did not have money. Nevertheless, they won the war, and on April 17, 1975, they took over the State Power.”

- The Khmer Rouge were very rich. The P.R. of China (PRC) gave them a lot of money.
- The Khmer Rouge had enormous amount of US dollars with which they (K. Rouge) could buy from the Khmer Lonnolian-Republicans, guns, ammunitions, medicines, etc…
- The Khmer Rouge had cadres and leaders who master martial art, the warlike “science” and “technique.” They acquired this “science” and this “technique” through the PRC and the S.R. of Vietnam. The latter transported for them (K. Rouge), through the Ho Chi Minh trail, without interruption, weapons, ammunitions, etc… which were offered by the PRC.
My conclusion: I do not see very well how the Khmer Rouge example could be useful to S… T…’s party at the 2008 election.

I am sick to see sihanouk letters again and again to make Thomico so down. Come on Thomico, Stand up right. If you are working for people, the people will with you. Ignore all stupid advices from this disgrace Sihanouk. China has given tone of monies to KR and Sihanouk to build Cambodia and to help Cambodian to prosperity and pride. But these two monsters have used monies from the sweats of Chinese people to build up their up their power and their terror regime and killed millions of people. China leaders have repeated many times again and again not to repeat the mistakes made by China. China wanted Cambodia leaders KR and Sihanouk to keep Cambodia as a country with democratic system, social justice and economic prosperity. But KR and Sihanouk have used all their generous monies to divide Cambodia into social classes. Old and New people. Sihanouk and KR wanted all khmers will live in poverty and sufferings as a revenge for supporting lon Nol regime. We need to write al Cambodain leaders stories to China for their assessement so that their aids will not go to the hands of terrors like Khmer Rouge, Sihanouk and Hun Sen...........I ajm a chinese, so I knew very well about this story.

The next advice will be for his son to contact Thailand for help, like his father requested help from the Chinese. If this is the case, there will be another war. If Thomico has actually made that comment (about the KR did not have the money but they still won the war) we do not need Sihanouk's analysis to come to that conclusion. Sihanouk knows about this because he was involved in the KR, PRC and SRV right from the beginning. What Sihanouk should realise when he made such comments is that the CPP will use his words to continue their attack on Thomico's party. The CPP will kill two birds with one stone: fooling Sihanouk that they still respect him so that they can continue using him, and weakening a potentially strong party and challenger in the election.
Sihanouk is addicted to politics. He has made a pledge not to get involved, but he still cannot control his urge. They say that men who play with swords will die because of swords, men who play with guns will die because of guns, and it will be the same with politics.
Sihanouk has been paid to make waves!

Ex king's comments are not true.
Facts:
1.Khmer Rouge soldiers are discipline and fierce/merciless fighters but logistically sluppy i.e to name a few: old clothes, many of them had no shoes, skinny looking with malaria rampage face, food wrapped with palm leaves.
2. The half of the money was from rubber trade with France company who had access to Khmer Rouge controlled area.
3. Khmer Rouge were adaptable to the situation. they could live with very basic supply of food. It means that wherever and whenever, the location they were in.
4. The reason of Khmer Rouge winning the war not because they were fierce/merciless fighters but because of Lon nol soldiers were not good fighters. (Lon Nol soldiers had more materials but lack of spirit of doing war game).
5. When the Khmer Rouge came to fight with the Vietnamese soldiers (tough and strict discipline with battle soaking experiences along far superior materials in arms and stategy and tactical plans), The VN didn't take long to capture Phnom Penh.
6. VN withdrwal from Cambodia was not defeated militarily but money and international issues.
Does he, Ranarih,learn form his mistake and weakness.
The retired King has given an important testimony to China's and Vietnam's help and assistance to the Khmer Rouge to rise to power and kill Cambodians. The two nations are also responsible for the killing and the suffering of the Cambodian people. No doubt they have not supported the Khmer Rouge trial. They have not given a penny for this trial in contrast to some other Asian countries such as Japan, India and some ASEAN countries. I couldn't agree with you more 7:01AM. This Viet-engineered killing fields have been historically re-written, khmerised and covered up by Hanoi's employed best and brightest lobbyist teams all over the capital cities in the world. And If I may say again, the Khmer Embassy on 16th street cannot even move a muscle without the approval of the one on "R" street. Thank you for sharing your view.
